  The first competency requirement for directors must be the ability to read and understand corporate financial statements. Second must be to ability to understand what strategic management is about. Thirdly, any director must understand the alignment of information technology with business objectives or the corporate mission. I am tired of semi-illiterates serving on the boards of banks and other corporate entities in Ghana.
