Just watch.....lazy country. I was just thinking about this last week. Ghana imports toothpick,.juice, veggies, tilapia and even chicken...what a shame! You are as good as dead if you can't be self reliant.

We AKans have vowed not to continue to toil for others to benefit. Our resources and revenues are used to educate others and they will turn around and label us as Ashanti cocoa villagers. We also deserve to wear tie and sit in offices and enjoy fresh air and sip tea. The cocoa industry will collapse. Nobody cares.

WHY SHOULD THE YOUTH ALONE BE BEING ENCOURAGED TO BE COCOA FARMERS,WE HAVE MANY SO CALLED EDUCATED AGRICULTURALISTS WITH ALL KINDS OF DEGREE TITLES IDLING AT THE MINISTRY OF AGRICULTURE AT A TIME THAT,THE PRESENT COCOA FARMERS AS YOU AVISED AEE AGEING.
WHY CAN'T THESE BUNCH OF AGRICULTURE DEGREE HOLDERS BE ASKED TP GO INTO COCOA FARMING AND RUN THEM ON SCIENTIFIC AND TECHNOLOGICAL METHODS AND TO INCREASE PRODUCTIVITY AT THE SECTOR.
LASTLY, HOW LONG SHOULD THE HARDWORING COCOA FARMERS CONTINUE TO EARN THE NATIONS FOREIGN HARD CURRNCY AND TO SERVICE NATIONAL BUDHETS IN THE COUNTRY.
THIS CLERALY INDICATES THAT, THE EDUCATED CONTINUE TO UNDERDEVELOP THE NATION BECAUSE OF THEIR INABILITY TO INNOVATE AND TO DISCOVER AND TO ACCELERATE ECONOMIC GROWTH IN THE COUNTRY.
IT SOUNDS VERY SHAMEFUL.

It is shameful that the CEO of COCOBOD is devoid of innovative ideas to make the cocoa industry more vibrant.
Has it occurred to anybody why the Western nations, Japan and now China eat so much chocolate ? Apart from being sweet to eat, cocoa also has nutritional value, a fact I expect the CEO to know. It is now regarded as super food.
COCOBOD research team should have known this, and begin to market this idea to Ghanaians and Africans to boost up the sale of cocoa beans.
Dr. Stephen K. Opuni should start advertising the nutritional value of cocoa to the whole world.
The economy is hitting many families hard and many have run out of ideas.
