The criteria for selecting the best bank in Ghana should be focusing more on the design of innovative products that benefit SMEs the most. Given that all banks in the country take the lazy way of investing in risk-free Government Treasury Bills the whole year, who cares if they give themselves prizes at the end of the year.
Sooner rather than later their shareholders will buy the T-Bills themselves and will not need the services of these banks anymore.
Banks need to contribute better in the country by helping the SMEs that constitute 92% of businesses in the country and employ the majority of Ghanaians especially the youth and women.
