If Ghana remains the second gold producer in Africa and our roads are in such deplorable state then there is something wrong with leadership. Driving down the Suhum - Nsawam Road with two foreign friends on a visit to our two major cities - Accra and Kumasi - I could not help but bent my head down in shame and bewilderment over the rugged and poor condition of the road. What baffles my mind is the idea that our so called leaders travel along this road daily and seem to be content with the deplorable condition. It drives home to wonder for reasons behind voting for the present administrators. Mahama and his weak administrators must be forced to resign. They are a disgrace to the country. The Adenta/Legon highway is a point of reference. How could a nation spend so much money to construct half-finished highway only to throw herself into the arms of danger ? With unmarked lanes, driving along this dark death trap is a reminder of our institutional inefficiency. Are we sick as a nation to be content with this ?
Driving a little further up the mountains a huge slab of rock torn from a suspension of rocks menancingly rests on the shoulders of the road, ready to fall and kill humans trafficking nearby. This same incompetent President and his dumb administrators drive past there each week to hold conferences at the Peduase Lodge. Makes one wonder if they have any administrative brains at all.

Impressive statistics. But the huge revenue is not improving our lives as owners of the gold.
Our kids school under trees at the mercy of vagaries of the weather and vulture droppings, our roads have gigantic potholes causing vehicular accidents and sending people into their graves prematurely, our public sector schools have demotivated teachers and lack teaching materials, our streets are filthy and causing diseases, housing is not affordable, inflation is high, majority of Ghanaians live in abject poverty, majority of Ghanaians cannot afford THREE meals a day,our hospitals do not have the best of equipment and beds, and our road network leaves much to be
desired. So what are these huge sums of money being used for?
