Because we originated from Egypt and not Mali. After being conquered by the Romans (Julius and Augustus), the clans of Aduana, Bretuo, Asonah, Ekuonah etc trekked through the desert to Sudan, then to the west to the Moorlands of Morocco and Mauritania to Ghana (present day Mali), staying around the Malian golden city of Sikaso and its environs but very weakened.
Conquered again by the Moors, we trekked down to what became the Gold Coast.
The Pharaoenic royal clan changed from the Asonah clan of Obiri Yeboah to Osei Tutu 1's Oyoko clan as Asantehene/Pharaoh in the Gold Coast.
The Asante never ever go back where we've been defeated before.

Tweaa..Jealousy will kill some people oo. Perhaps the Akans in Ghana and Ivory Coast could do the same too. Just tell your Osei Tutu to lead you Akans to Ivory Coast to discuss "Revome trade barriers in west Africa".

So why do the Ewes come back to Ghana after their pilgrimages to Togo? Anytime they go away, Ghana become so peaceful. They should stay there after all that is the place they can identify and claim as their own. In Ghana, they will always be identified as foreigners and aliens.

Ewes should be proud of Togbe Afede and his advisers for this Initiative. Indeed all barriers in Africa must be removed to bost trade and promotion of our cultural heritage. Thanks to the German Missionaries,we have a sound and sweet language so we need to continue teaching it in all schools in the Eweland. Government(not Chiefs) should encourage Learning of that language which is our culture. Our Chiefs are not Rulers but our Leaders.
I do not think Notse(Togo)is Ancestral home of Ewes because people known now as Ewes had journeyed from South Soudan transiting North and Central Africa spending several years in OYO(Nigeria) and Tado(Dahume ,now Benin before entering Notse. During the reign of Togbui AGOR, they were forced to depart from Notse towards TSEVIE and Mission Tove and thence to the Gold Coast. So Notse is not home for Ewes. The Ewes spent about100 years in OYO where they studied EFA and Yoruba. It should be noted also that Togbui AGOR born Togbui KOLI.It is regretable that no official from Ghana attended the festivity.

We should congratulate Togbe Afede but iam a bit confused of the festivity. I have never head of AGBOGBOZA which has no meaning in Ewe. I do hear and read of HOGBETSOTSOZA, which has a meaning in Ewe language. I do know of AGBOGBO family in Mission Tove and New Tafo. Some explanation is needed. Is this family linked with Agbogboza? I do not think so.
It is Worth adding that AGOR and KOLI's families can be found in Anloga and Wedome. We need a german manufactured type writer with Ewe key boards, to enable us to write the Ewe language correctly. It might still be in stock in Bremen.

Because you haven't heard of it it doesn't exist? And because you don't understand it has no meaning? A little learning will help!
Do some quick check before you misinform us all!
