Trying to bring the 'cost' down does TWO negative things: 1. It NEVER brings the cost of housing down and; 2. The effort to force costs down negatively impacts jobs and salaries.
The more bureaucrats try to manipulate 'costs' - the more they 'screw up' the economy.
Capitalism REQUIRES government 'clowns' stay out of the economy.

Better to put up accommodation for sale and rental than to do nothing.
SSNIT will certainly ensure that commercial prices are paid for these properties, so that it can make a profit on them.
