I am not sure this man knows what he is saying and such heads associations. It is awefully a shame. He does not know the EU. I am with them as intern and already in the knowing. What a pitty.

There are many fields where Ghana lacks the needed expertise. To solve this problem the government of Ghana has over the decades made scholarships available for the needed human resource to be trained abroad. In some cases so many people were sent and not even one returned. If you know you are not prepared to work and live in Ghana and would therefore not return do not take the scholarships.
The Takoradi Poly Students who were sacked for applying with fake certificates must be prosecuted in a court of competent jurisdiction. Just sacking them is not enough.
Nowadays businesses and government organisations have stopped demanding Secondary School Certificate or Basic Education Certificate.
Each of these certificates are important. For example for many tertiary graduates the only certificate that can tell whether one can speak good English or whether one has adequate knowledge of Mathematics is the Secondary School Certificate.
Similarly the only certificate that can tell whether a tertiary graduate has basic knowledge of Ghanaian history, culture, agriculture and the basic geography of West Africa is the Basic Education Certificate.

YOU GUYS ARE SELFISH TO THE HIGHEST DEGREE. YOU AND I MEAN THE FEW OF YOU WHO HAVE INDUSTRIES OR MANUFACTURING SOMETHING ARE HAPPY THAT YOU WILL GET YOUR PRODUCTS TO EU MARKETS DUTY FREE THEREBY MAKING HUGE PROFITS. SOONER OR LATER YOU WILL REALIZE THAT YOUR PRODUCT IS NOT UNIQUE AND SOMEONE ELSE IN EUROPE IS COMPETING WITH YOU, THEN WHAT? EXCEPT YOUR COCOA OR MANGANESE THAT EUROPE CANNOT PRODUCE. WHAT TODAY YOU THINK WILL GIVE YOU COUNTLESS PROFIT IS BEING PRODUCED IN THE FUTURE BY THE EU OR CHINA MORE CHEAPLY THAN YOU CAN IMAGINE, THEN WHAT WILL YOU DO? THINGS MIGHT CHANGE AFTER THIS EPA IS SIGNED. THINGS THAT YOU THINK TODAY YOU CAN PRODUCE OR MANUFACTURE IN GHANA AND SELL IN EUROPE, IS BEING MANUFACTURED THERE AND EVEN BEING SHIPPED TO GHANA, THEN WHAT WILL YOU DO? THINK ABOUT THE FUTURE, NOT TODAY.

It would often make more sense the other way 'round:
- To "prevent the present incessant dumping from the Far East" is exactly what the EU is probably trying to achieve, so that in turn it may further the "flooding of the Ghanaian market with European goods".
- "European industries have technology transfer policies" to "standardise" the Ghanaian raw materials, especially from mining and agriculture, under European supervision, i.e. agricultural industrialisation in Ghana, resulting in the no.1-contributors in Ghana - the small-scale farmers - getting driven out of the market. They will thus "create better working environments and conditions of service which would enhance workers’ rights and dignity" for a few workers on the huge over-mechanised farms and plantations , while they majority of Ghanaian villagers would enjoy no working conditions at all.
- "local industries are more likely to improve" -> "indicating that subsidized goods from European Union would be allowed into the local market duty free" - is there a negation missing in this sentence, or does this make sense in AGI's worldview? (BTW, what "local industries"?)
- "Mr Mensah urged all captains of industries" & "He asked the Ministry of Trade and Industry"... to take the "bold step" first and then start to plan on adapting to the new situation.
Similar to a man who had signed his own death-warrant first, in order to get granted the last meal, planning afterwards to develop long-term strategies to break out of jail.

What the EU is demanding from West Africa in the EPA agreement is free movement of goods and services knowing that it makes it easier to dump their subsidised cheap unwanted goods on us. This will collapse our struggling industries who can't compete on price and lead to more unemployment and poverty. To make the deal fair, ECOWAS should ask EU for free movement of people between Europe and West Africa so that the West Africans who lose their jobs from this wicked deal can go to Europe to work. The EU will never agree to free movement of people so there should not be free movement of goods either.

How can local industries improve on their earnings if subsidized goods from the EU are allowed into the local markets Duty Free?
