I doubt whether anybody who transferred his money outside or has kept it at home would readily bring it back to the banks. The announcement on Feb 5 was sudden and took immediate effect, without consideration for even transactions that were in the pipeline. Cheques were retuned without payment, and people could no longer have access to their own money. For those of us who were adults under the PNDC etc, we shudder at what next they can do. Confidence in the banks is gone. I liken this to the loss of trust when a partner commits adultery.

FELLOW GHANAIANS, I AM NOT ADVOCATING FOR A COUP D'ETAT, BUT I THINK WE NEED TO FIND ANOTHER WAY TO ASK THE NDC RESIGN AND CALL FOR IMMEDIATE ELECTIONS, I DON'T CARE HOW WE CALL IT. JUST LOOK AROUND IF YOU ARE NPP OR NDC IN GHANA AND ASK YOURSELF: WHAT WILL GHANA BE BY 2016 IF THINGS GO ON LIKE THIS? LET'S DROP TRIBAL SENTIMENTS, GHANA'S FATE IS AT STAKE.

We need to seriously think of asking Mahama and NDC to resign. For AT LEAST once, let's forget about our tribes and think of Ghana. This man and this NDC party will destroy Ghana by 2016. I will accept any right thinking patriotic guy from another tribe to rule Ghana. For example: Dr. Bawumia, AG. Amidu, Sulley Muntari(former BS player), Hon. Bagbin Lawyer Quashigah, Lawyer Okudzeto ( Not the corrupt Ablakwa). Only those who have proved to be patriotic Ghanaians. I want to say Akuffo Addo because he is the only man who can wean out corruption in Ghana and bring about the rule of law. . He can jail criminals and corrupt politicians. WE NEED TO SAVE MOTHER GHANA. Let's change our National Anthem to "Yen ara yen asaase ni" in all Ghanaian languages. The God bless our homeland does not sink into our head at all. Let's drop our tribal sentiments

I KNOW THIS SYSTEM WILL NOT SURVIVE DEC. 7, 2014. THE CEDI WILL HIT 4 TO 1USD AND PREZ MAHAMA AND THE ENTIRE NDC WILL NO MORE CONTAIN THE WRATH OF GHANAIANS. THEY WILL RESIGN.

KT,
The real causes of the fall of the Cedi will ALWAYS exist independent of government: traders chasing dollar for imports, governmet itself needing dollars for projects, businessmen exchanging and keeping millions of dollars in their rooms, parents exchanging ceis to dollars for their wards abroad and what is worse hundreds of foreign banks who exchange their profits (ie trillions of Cedis) into dollars.
You see all these situations will exist whether Mahama, Akuffo, call it what rules the nation.
