Why the hell grow so much watermelon when the market is clearly not there? The ministry of agriculture has failed the small farmer, BIG TIME!

It's like the State-of-Accra today. Every freaking villager from outside accra has migrated to the capital and turned it into a massive village of steel , technology, horse drawn carts, donkeys, cattle and foot paths traversing autobahns, and we expect government to provide free food, accommodation and even clothing, before we can appreciate the meaning of governance.
I hate the establshment, but I swear if there was one factor I could eliminate, it would be deginerate, the zombie invasion and squatter class. Demolish all open market places, and all the trotro and gypsie taxi activities will be eradicated.

Let's suppose I have this huge tract of land in wheat - state Kansas. I want to cultivate Kansas City Red Wheat because it's preferred by flour mills around the globe.
My business plan is that before the wheat season is even over I have to deliver ten million bushels of "wheat" on a forward contract- i.e to be delivered in the future- could be three months but dependent on wheat futures contracts.
I don't have a clue how much bushels of wheat I will harvest, but I know my cost of producing one (1) bushel of wheat.
To protect my bottom line I have to buy a put option contract- i.e to sell my wheat at a set price, on the CBOT.
If at the time of delivering my wheat on that forward contract I signed way before I started planting my " watermallon"- know where am going with this, don't you?- and the price has bottomed out, I have my put option contract I bought earlier- because it says I can sell my contract at that agreed amount- to mitigate the fall in the current price of my "watermellon"
Folks, one of the solutions, and there are myriads, to the problem of the watermellon farmers and all farmers is a vibrant commodities futures exchange. The government should set it up in haste, not due, with an excellent self-regultory regime and leave the rest to the producers, they will produce and the Government will not be blamed because it doesn't eat watewrmellons and thus a market for it. I may sound callous but folks a market economy doesn't take prisoners, it eats them alive for a competitive edge.
But, I suscribe to that creed because competition and the profit motive is the engine for economic growth. Just look where the BRICS- or the "fragile economies" are today and where they started. Ghana is on the treashold to burst out- elect good leaders with patriotism running through their veins - and soon enough "Ghana your beloved country is free."
This is the result of having an incompetent and visionless Govt.
