THE US DOLLARS DUMPED ON GHANA'S ECONOMY BY THE CENTRAL BANK OF GHANA WAS LIKE PLAYING "CHACHA" WITH THE NATION'S MONEY.
IT HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH QUANTITATIVE EASING, AND CERTAILY NOTHING TO DO TO STIMULATE GROWTH.
GHANA SIMPLY DOES NOT HAVE THE BASIC ECONOMICS FUNDAMENTALS IN PLACE TO MAKE SUCH ECONOMIC POLICIES WORKABLE.
ALL THE NECESSARY STRUCTURES NEEDED FOR GROWTH HAVE BEEN DIVESTED BY SUCCESSIVE GHANA GOVERNMENTS, AND THE PROCEEDS LOOTED BY THE ENTIRE LEADERSHIP.
GHANA'S STRATEGIC ECONOMIC INTERESTS ARE NOW IN THE HANDS OF FOREIGNERS, ALL OF WHOM ARE AROUND TO EXPLOIT GHANA AND GHANAINS IN COLLUSION WITH OUR NINCOMPOOP LEADERS LIKE KUFUOR, MAHAMA, RAWLINGS AND MANY OTHERS.
SADLY, THOSE WHO TOOK PART IN CREATING THE MESS ARE THE VERY CROOKED PEOPLE INVITED TO WINE AND DINE AT GHANA'S LONG-SUFFERING TAX PAYERS EXPENSE. OTHERS CHOSE TO STAY BACK TO CONTINUE ENJOYING THEIR LOOT WHILE RIDICULING MAHAMA SHITTING IN HIS PANTS AND EXPECTING OTHERS TO CLEAN UP THE STENCHY SHIT FROM HIS ARSE.
WE SHALL ALL CONTINUE TO SWIM IN THE SHIT.

In my oppinion...The issue is not about the colour of your skin. The issue is knowledge, commitment and drive to resolve our issues as a country and a continent as a whole...
If we continue to denegrade our race and colour believing we're hopeless, then we'll never get out of this mess... We have what it takes to change our countries and continent... Just think of it; if young blacks are running millions and billion dollar businesses for global conglomerates, you thinks small countries with $16B GDP is what they cant run?
All we need to do is groom and sponsor quality leadership and Africa's problems will be solved...
Trust me...we know what to do...
Just put yourself into the CEO of a company called Ghana...will you keep employees called Regional Ministers? What value do they bring to the table to warrant the expenditure on them when you have metro and district chief executives and a local goverment ministry? the compensation of the 10 minister and 20 deputies making 30 is more the $1M per annum... is that a good IBT for company Ghana? Hell YES...please note their adminstrative expenditure is not part of the $1M so technically you can save almost $3M if you add their office and admistrative running costs...
Look...we just need the right black people in place and it'll amaze you how Ghana and Africa will transform
Regards
Isaac

The plight of private businesses expressed above puts this economy in a downward spiral. When private businesses have negative outlook they lay off workers and reduce their level of business. Unemployment will incease and the governments tax revenue will decrease. Government's ability to pay salaries and provide services will reduce. Essentially the economy will shrink, instead of expanding. Very SERIOUS measures are needed to stop the fall and gradually raise the economy. The fall is usually quicker than the rise. This country needs HELP, Mahama WAKE UP !

We are being led to believe there is a "Cost of Living" crisis in Ghana.
What is not very clear is;the most affected section of the economy?
The "Import"driven sector I suspect?

We can only revive our economy if we put business minded leaders in *decision taking* government positions. One needs only to ask the business experiences of our leaders and the answer tells us why we're in our current state. Running an economy is not based on the long classroom economic theories we learnt in school alone...we need to combine street smartness and experience... Let's take simple examples like tax holidays for start-up companies; all the incentives are for foriegn investors..so that poor high school graduate who's saved his small pocket money to start an enterprise is not refused the needed tax reliefs and rather mugged by the GRA like a contageous disease that needs to eradicated from the surface of the planet...how then do you expect growth in such an economy? how do you expect wealth creation and equal wealth distribution? You give tax holidays to the people who expartriate their earnings and tax tax the people you keep theirs in your country...as my friends from Nigeria will put it " NA WA FOR UNA"
We need leaders that have built their own entities before...they'll know it's not easy to setup a company or enterprise hence they'll hold the hands of the new/young and struggling local businesses to help them grow cuz that's our only way out...WHY? because it'll create jobs there by creating a bouyant economy for more government revenue through corporate taxes, reduce unemployment and increase revenues from PAYE... reduce dependency on government freebies, create excess produce for export thereby increasing our forex inflows to strenghten the cedi...etc
...hmmm...sometimes i wonder if it's just vindictiveness or real lack of knowledge because the solutions to our economic problems are not as difficult as we're made to beleive...

It would not be new in this assertion that businesses are facing the worst torment in their lives in present day Ghana under the Mahama led NDC gov't. The question is, is it a new occurrence or phenomenon? Over the years, what has the NDC gov't ever done to ensure that businesses flourish in this country? The position of businesses about the NDC gov't with respect to the economy and the general direction of the country, which is anything but heading south in a rather Usain Bolt fashion with so much boundless energy, is not peculiar to just businesses. The international community, the Bretton Woods institutions, the citizenry and even the NDC gov't itself realizes that, Ghana is in respiratory distress and choking under the mismanagement, incompetence and looting antics of the Mahama led NDC gov't. Under such circumstances, you wonder where Fiavi Kwetey is to scream e de bee k3k3 with the twisted mouth.

The so-called advanced countries in Europe and the Americas are going through a growth-less business cycle and their political leaders are also at their wits end as to the appropriate solutions. In US, BritaIN, SPAIN, PORTUGAL, ITALY, GREECE, there is high unemployment and a lack of consumer confidence. We are at a place in capitalism where the attempt to increase the rate of profit increase by ioncreasing prices and offering low wages is not working or at best is fuelling unrest within the citizenry. Meanwhile the top 1 percent of the population owns 90 percent of the wealth and the gap is widening. Do not expect any respite in the third world soon as the SITUATION WORSENS. EVEN CHINA HAS NOW REGISTERED A DECLINE IN gdp GROWTH.
