stop short term gratification for electricity and think about long term chronic breathing problems that you or your grand children will have.
Do you own research well. Solar is way to go but expensive.

Heard of clean coal technology? Please read about it and come back. 41 percent of global electricity is generated from coal - 45 percent in US.

Solar is good but cannot provide base load. We are talking serious industrialisation and not lighting up my village.

Stanford University has just announced the withdrawl of its investments from Coal Companies for this reason "Coal’s status as a major source of carbon pollution linked to climate change persuaded the trustees to remove companies “whose principal business is coal” from their investment portfolio, the university said.

Almost every source is an environmental pollutant. Energy source that cannot be paid for by the user will out live its usefulness. There should be trade off here to mitigate the serious energy shortages. Ghana cannot depend only on hydro power, since the rivers can dry up during serious draught. Nuclear energy is costly initially but may be cheaper in the long term. Solar is best for residential usage and equally expense. Wind is not a proven technology yet. Trade off is the key.
When others are getting away from coal as source of electricity production due to envirimental concerns, someone of this position is advocating for it

Coal can pollute the air, but most Trains run on coal to transport people. What is good for Stanford May not be good for Ghana . They are both in different environment.

NATIONS ARE TRYING TO DO AWAY WITH POWER GENERATION FROM COAL BECAUSE IT HAS BEEN SUSPECTED OF BEING BIGGER PRODUCER OF WARMING OF THE ATMOSPHERE. WE CAN RATHER LOOK AT WIND AND SOLAR INSTEAD.
