FYI: I KNOW THESE 419 DUDES. THEY STEAL MONEY AND BLOW IT ON CLUBS, CLOTHES, JEWELLEY, POPPING BOTTLES.
THEY ARE ALWAYS BEHIND ON RENT, ON THE RUN FROM POLICE, BILLS ARE LATE/UNPAID N SOMETIMES, THEY R SO BROKE. WAT DOES THIS TELL YOU ABOUT SUCH PPL? THEY HVE NO PLAN....
COMMENT FROM A MILITARY MAN ON GHWEB:
"Ghana is beginning to look less and less lucrative or attractive to do business in. A Simple fact.
Not one single arm of the institutions(justice, education,security.. etc) of the current government seems to be working.
A failed country because it's ran by failed and corrupt politicians of the highest order.
Any wonder businesses are packing up pulling out?".......
SO WHEN MAHAMA OPENS HIS BEAK AND TALKS TRASH LIKE GEAR 1, GEAR2, GEAR 3 ETC. ALL I WANT TO DO IS THROW A ROCK INTO TO HIS SPEAKER MOUTH!

that Ghana was heralded as an economy for Africans to emulate? Beware of praise singers.
Individuals have always been advised to stay away from borrowing and to live within their incomes, and
why not countries?
That we were once colonized does not mean we have to stay so.
Remember when every "pundit" and his dog in the Western media was telling us how Ghana was the example for economic and democratic development in Africa? I said at the time that it was nonsense because it was based solely on stock-market performance (i.e. speculation). It was also part of a PR push to justify why successive US presidents were visiting Ghana. In reality, they were going there to secure the emerging oil industry for Western corporations but they needed to sugarcoat it with "democracy." Nothing wrong with leaders securing deals for their couturiers' corporations, it is just the naked propaganda surrounding it that is ridiculous.
I rem, ember when Tony Blair and co were holding up Museveni and the president of Rwanda as the "new generations of African leaders." That was also a self-serving claim as we can now see.
I was impressed by Ghana democratic model because they had experience alternance, different parties have held power, the election was won by a very small margin, and yes it seems they were the future to follow for West African nations. I remember reading a few years ago too that they had just discovered oil and they were making sure not to make the same mistakes as Nigeria. It appears now that they were recklessly spending.
You say there were giving the oil industry to foreign players. Can you expantiate on what they did and compare it to say Nigeria?

Poor Seth Terkper. He is treating Ghana as if he is restructuring a private company. That job is for economists. It is not a purely accounting job.Whilst cutting cost with a cold heart and mobilizing revenue, there ought to be some flavor of economics. The magic wand is to put money in the hands of consumers to raise consumer confidence and stimulate demand for goods and services which will in turn cause increases in the production of goods and services and add to existing jobs and set the accelerator in motion.
He is in a state of confusion because the threats to labor, erosion of the Cedi and the persistent withdrawal of subsidies have fueled inflation and stalled demand for goods and services.Hence the downward trend of the economy.I wonder why the withdrawal of subsidies on utilities and refined petroleum products is done without regard to the level of inflation and the ability to pay.
Seth Terkper is in a mess,a square peg in a round hole.John Mahama's way of doing things.Garbage in,garbage out.Seth will perform wonderfully at the Controller and Accountant-Generals department. He can cut the astronomical cost from ghost names and bring to order the employees who want to be bribed before they process wages and salaries earned through sweat and toil.
Seth Terkper must be sacked and all other ministers who are not performing
