There was a temporal correction in the price of gold in the past three months, and they are using it as an alabi to frighten the people. Ignorance is really expensive!

Mrs. Betty Mould Iddrisu might have alexithymia to resort to this self degrading of one's own roots or the genesis of her shame of being an Asante is not because of what the media in Ashanti region reports about her Ndc achievements but is rooted in her personal shame of being a third wife to a Dagomaba man despite her education. Let me make it clear here. There is nothing wrong for an Asante woman to be married to a Dagomba man who are closely related to Asantes but to be a third wife to a man whether Asante or Ewe shows a lo self estee in my estimation.
As a matter of fact, Madam Betty Mould Iddrisu should not be ashamed to be an Asante. she can choose to be a Ga since her father is a Ga an she wouldn't have to feel this shameful.
When I first heard of Mrs. Betty Mould Iddrisu in 2008 during the Presidential elections, I was so impressed about this woman's academic and professional achievements I thought she might one day end up being the first woman President of Ghana but her performance as the Attorney General and how she handled the Woyome case exposed her as a lot of brains lacking wisdom or being corrupt.
As I said earlier, Madam Iddrisu unlike a lot of us has a choice of what she wants to be. She is lucky to have a Ga father, a Lebanese grandfather and Asante mother. She can choose to be a Ga, Asante or Lebanese if she want or in extreme case, can adopt her husband's Dagomba heritage and nobody will lose a sleep over it. If she is ashamed of being an Asante, maybe the feeling is mutual since some of us Asantes are also ashamed of her because of many things including the way she disgraced Asantes in how she handled the Woyome case.
Even her apology a day ago came with qualifiers;
"Responding to the public reaction to her comments, the former Education minister told Accra-based Neat FM Tuesday that even though she believes her comments have been twisted by the media, she nonetheless apologises for them.I am a true Ashanti and would not turn my back on my heritage. My words were twisted and would want to say sorry to all who have been hurt as a result of my statements,” she stated. "
Madam Iddrisu, we all heard you loud and clear n the radio, nothing was twisted and you should own up to what you said. If you are ashamed of being an Asante, choose to be a Ga, you have that privilege

A brawl broke out at a Ghanaian Cabinet meeting when President Jerry Rawlings beat up his deputy out of the room, an official govt statement has confirmed.
Vice-President Nkensen Arkaah, who chairs all Cabinet meetings, was presiding over the session on Thursday, 28 Dec. 1995 when President Flt. Lt. Jerry John Rawlings challenged him over derogatory statements the Vice is alleged to have made at his party congress the previous week.
President Rawlings challenged Mr Arkaah to go out and prove to the world the questionable or so-called corrupt things which take place during meetings of the cabinet.
"Until then", the president insisted, "Mr Arkaah had no moral right to continue to participate in the deliberations of a cabinet for which he had no respect."
A few minutes later the president then took Arkaah's arm, insisting that he should leave. Arkaah reacted by attempting to to shrug off the hand holding him. Arkaah said: "He gave me a terrible blow on the shoulder which sent me falling to the floor. He attempted to pull me up by the shoulder in order to hit me further. He tore the shoulder of the jacket in the process. In his frustration, he kicked me a couple of times in the groin before members present were able to restrain him."
Cabinet colleagues rushed to pull off the President from inflicting further physical damage on the 68-year old Vice President. Rawlings is 49. Colleagues prevailed on Arkaah to leave.
Rawlings, a former air force flight lieutenant who staged two successful coups and then turned politician, heads the ruling National Democratic Congress party. Arkaah is leader of the National Convention Party.
"Overnight 10,000 cedis became one cedi or the equivalent of one dollar and 1,000 cedis, which was good money in 2000, became one pesewa, and was no longer considered to have any value," he claimed.
"When Kufuor’s government removed four noughts from the cedi, he overnight abolished the people’s economy. He abolished the people’s economy because he abolished the means to exchange goods below the value of 1,000 old cedis."
He said the decision by the Kufuor administration to devalue the local currency culminated in "forcing everyone to live above a dollar a day, which is the global measure of poverty".
According to the former military cum civilian leader, Mr. John Agyekum Kufuor is liable for "setting in motion the moral and economic crisis that the nation is experiencing today".

As usual, Ghanaians howled and cursed those responsible Officials who have budgeted 20 million dollars for Blackstars world cup participation which the sheer amount has corruption written alll over it. This is not the first time GFA and the Ministry of Sports have colluded to steal Taxpayers money in the name of soccer. In 2010, we did the same and those who stole money from Ghana like the present Minister of Sports, Afriyie Ankrah and Akua Densuah are still walking free with their loot. I wrote articles calling for the prosecution of all those who stole Taxpayers money but nothing came out of that. In 2010, we spent $19.5 million and we have budgeted another 20 million dollars for the 2014 campaign whilst all the countries mentioned below who are richer than Ghana are spending less than half of what Ghana is spending.
The US $2 million
Algeria US$5.8 million
Belgium €4.5 million
Nigeria US$9.5 million

... at Government's Expense
The Minister of Youth and Sports, Akua Sena Dansua has expressed disgust at suspicions and allegations cast in her direction in relation to expenses said to have been incurred by the nation over the Black Stars' participation in the 2010 World Cup.
She was in Parliament on Thursday to answer a question on how much it cost the nation to engage in the World Cup.
Responding to the issues on Asempa FM on Friday, the Minister explained that even though she traveled with her house-help and driver to South Africa for the World Cup, she paid for her daughter to go on the trip as it was an opportunity for all Ghanaians to go and support the Black Stars.
She further denied using state funds to facilitate anyone’s private trip to the World Cup.
“I took my secretary, I took my driver and I took my body guard. These are the people who are here with me day and night,” she added."
The Driver and the Bodyguard, which one of them is your bed warmer, Akua?
Muntaka took a girfriend to Ivory Coast and Germany and called her his secretary, now you have four of them, your secretary, house help, Driver and Bodyguard to South Africa to live like Sheik, we can't afford you, you are too expensive, Akua, we are tired of paying for boyfriends and girlfriends of sports ministers.bribing them with a trip to South Africa to watch world soccer matches and that
Akua Densuah is a thief and Mills should dismiss this woman pronto. This woman wants to compensate her personnel house help at Ghanaian taxpayers expense by bribing them with a trip to South Africa to watch world soccer matches and that should not be entertained by Mills administration.
After Densua nad her cohorts have defrauded the nation with million of dollars on the NDC supporters transported to South Africa to watch soccer matches on T.V and stealing some money for their care, now this woman also is asking Ghanaian taxpayers to pay for her household staff, this lady has a lot of cojones.
How can this woman bill Ghana for 1,500 supporters when the government sent only 1,000? The sentiments expressed by these two contributors at the Ghanaweb forum, are a clear testament of how Ghanaians feel about this team "C" minister.

I regret my initial support for this government and I ask for forgiveness from
anyone who through my comments fell in love for this government.
Ras Mubarak came out strongly that the government should tell ghanaians who was
behind the sponsored trip to south africa but many including pro NDC supporters
said he was doing that because he was bitter for losing an election.

Comment to:STUPID AND CORRUPT NDC GOVERNMENT
Sarpong, we are all shock to hear the claim by the Minister that the Government
of Ghana sponsored the fans.
We were all witnesses to the bitter war of words between the Jerry faction of
the NDC and the Mills faction which includes the headquarters. Each was claiming
credit for sending their supporters to the games. We all heard the many claims
and counter-claims by these nut-heads.
I hope the Ghanaian media will start asking the hard questions.
____________________________________________________
Akua Densuah has no inkling of what went on in South Africa if her statements on
friday July 30th 2010 is juxtaposed to what the President and the Vice-President
said about the behaviour of the Ghanaian supporters in South Africa is anything
to go by. This is what the first two gentlemen of Ghana have to say about the
conduct of our supporters in South Africa:
"President John Evans Atta Mills is fuming with rage over the deplorable state
of Ghana fans who are in South Africa to support the Black Stars at the ongoing
2010 FIFA World Cup.
He questioned the efficiency of the committee tasked to cater for the 1,600 or
more fans sponsored by government and some individuals, which had brought undue
hardships on the fans, notable among which is subtended food and
non-availability of tickets to watch Ghana matches."
"Vice President John Dramani Mahama returned with the first batch of supporters,
numbering over 450, on Friday June 24.
The Vice President, on his return expressed his displeasure at the conduct of
some Ghanaian soccer fans at the FIFA World Cup Tournament and called on
Ghanaians to comport themselves outside the borders of the country, in order to
reflect the good image of their Mother Land."
The incompetence of Akua Densua and her NDC cohorts who thought they could use
the bait of our taxpayers funds to send NDC supporters MASQUERADING as soccer
fans came unglued when the supporters after reaching South Africa were made to
fend for themselves and have to resort to prostitution and robbing which
were not beamed back home.
"Several state sponsored Ghanaian soccer fans in South Africa are refusing to
return home on the directives of Ghanaian football officials there.
Officials insist the fans must return immediately due to lack of funds. The fans
will have to fend for themselves if they stay any longer since state sponsorship
has been stretched thin.
Reports say some of the Ghanaian women soccer fans have had to resort to
prostitution to fend for themselves."
The fans are accusing the Ghanaian authorities of reneging on its promise to
give them a daily per diem of $100 and are thus calling on the officials to come
to their aid to help alleviate their plight."
If this is the behaviour put up by our fans and two incidencies where Ghanaian
men were accused of raping a Canadian woman and another Ghanain woman, how can
Akua Densua then tell us that sending these supporters to South Africa enhanced
the image of our country? This is what Akua Densuah, the so called Sports
Minister said on Friday July 30th and readers can compare that to what the
President and his Vice said about the behaviour of the same fans who were forced
to resort to immoral behaviour to care for themselves;
"Touching on the decision to send supporters to South Africa for the World Cup, Sena Dansua defended the decision of the government adding that "it was not a waste of resources".
The minister added that, supporters who went to the event also had the
opportunity of studying the positive aspect of the South Africa culture which will have an impact on Ghana in the near future."
What positive aspect did these fans have a chance of studying when they were busy whoring and robbing to take care of their daily needs? No wonder those Journalists who were in South Africa are calling on Mills to relieve you of your duties as the Minister of Sports, you failed Ghanaians .

GFA and Ministry of Sports Get a $10 million Gift
It was reported about two weeks ago that the government of Ghana has given the GFA and Sports Ministry about $10 million for the world cup tournament. According to the Minister of Information, this $10 million was approved by the government. A few days later, the information minister released another report clarifying that the about $10 million was going to be given to the sports authorities not as a loan, but as a free offer to the sports authorities.
About a week after the government reported the $10 million gift to the sports authorities, it was reported in the media that the GFA (and by extension, the Ministry of Sports) was given about $15 million ($1 million for preparation and $14 million for reaching the last eight) by FIFA and $19 million by the government of Ghana for the 2010 world cup. This made a total of $34 million given to the GFA and Sports Ministry for the 2010 world cup. Of the $34 million collected by the Ghana sports authorities, only $2 million was returned to the government. Other media reports indicated that the sports authorities officially documented a total of $11 million given to them by FIFA, instead of the $15 million total officially reported by FIFA.
From the various reports, the sports authorities in Ghana received $34 million and reportedly spent $9 million or $10 million, but gave back $2 million to the government of Ghana. Simple arithmetic suggests that the sports authorities should have returned, at least, $24 million to the government of Ghana for the 2010 world cup tournament. The intriguing aspect of the monies realized from the 2010 world cup is that the government of Ghana did not look into the financial dealings of the sports authorities, let alone demand any monies back from the sports authorities. As with all transactions in Ghanaian, there are very rear samaritans and people with integrity. Needless to say, the sports authorities did not voluntarily return the due amount to the government.
But with all the news and arguments concerning the finances of the 2010 world cup, one would think that the current Ghana government will be looking more critically at the 2014 world cup expenditures and other financial transactions. Contrary to normal reasoning, the government astonishingly decided to give the sports authorities $9.6 million without any accountability for the 2014 world cup. The GFA and Sports Ministry are yet to make public why they need the $9.6 million; let's bear in mind that all tournament expenses are footed by FIFA for a contingent of up to fifty for the participating nations. This is excluding the prize monies.
So the question is, why did the government of Ghana feel the need to give the sports authorities this free money? This question keeps coming up, because Ghana, currently, is facing serious economic crisis. The hospitals lack basic needs, let alone critical systems. Electricity and water are lacking. A large portion of pupils attend school under trees. There are financial problems everywhere. Yet, the government felt the need to give about $10 million, unaccounted for, to the sports authorities who do not need this money. I repeat, this $10 million is not needed by the sports authorities. But can you blame the sports authorities?
It is hard to blame them; they are not expected to be angels. The government, which is the executive branch, does not seem to have asked the necessary questions; this is the best you can ascribe to the government. The legislature is too busy about nothing and hurriedly approved what was presented to them. The populace is numb with persistent unresponsive authorities and agencies. Almost the entire nation of Ghana seem to be in a slumber. A few who can muster the courage to be alert seize the opportunity to exploit the apathy and despair of the entire nation.
How then do you address this blatant financial plunder by the sports authorities. Is it folly to want to get things right where there is numbly blissful ignorance and apathy? In a society where everyone is looking for a chance to cun another person, can you blame the sports authorities for taking advantage of what every Ghanaian would like to take advantage of? Well, the truth is that the nation of Ghana will run herself into utter destruction if this tide of criminality is not stemmed. What needs be done is to put pressure on the government and the members of parliament to stop the corrupt activities. These are the only ways and means to save Ghana.

The budget details for the Black Stars participation at the 2014 World Cup is a state secret, according to Ibrahim Sannie Daara.
The Director of Communications at the Ghana Football Association was reacting to the news broken by two media outlets, Citi FM and the Captivating Ghana Sports newspaper, that they had details of the breakdown of the budget for the tournament.
“As we speak now those figures speculated in the media have got no legs to stand on,” Sannie said in a debate on the state-owned Ghana Television. “I’d say with no equivocation that as I sit here as Director of Communications of the GFA, I’ve not seen the breakdown.”
“The Chief of Staff has said that this is a state secret and if someone brings it and if I am not able to authenticate it, I will say that person s carrying a false document.” The former BBC journalist had been invited to GTV’s Sunday Night Live show hosted by Christopher Opoku and Karl Tufuoh.
Also invited were the Sports Editor of Peace FM, Dan Kweku Yeboah and Gary Al-Smith, Citi Sports’ editor.
Last week, Yeboah and Al-Smith released figures from documents they had intercepted which showed that, among other things, the officials who make up the Black Stars management committee will get slightly more bonuses than the players themselves during the group stages of the World Cup.
But even though Sannie admitted that he had not seen the budget breakdown, he insisted that what the two journalists were reporting were “concoctions”, going further to call Al-Smith a “liar” who uses lies as his “stock in trade.”
The FA spokesman challenged the two journalists to show him documents from the office of the Chief of Staff, which is – according to him – the only place the breakdown could have been leaked from.
“If anybody comes out with any breakdown, unless I see the documents as authentic from the Chief of Staff’s Office I will say that [whatever they have as a] document is a ruse,” Sannie said.
Sannie revealed that after meetings with the Chief of Staff, everyone present had been charged not to discuss the details of the budget, but quickly dismissed claims that the GFA do not want the public to know.
On his part, Dan Kweku Yeboah also contended that taxpayers’ money cannot be used for projects and be labelled state secrets, “unless they think there are things to hide from the people of Ghana.”
Citi Sports editor Al-Smith also pointed out that as a fundamental principle of journalism, he was under no obligation to disclose sources.
Al-Smith told the FA spokesman: “You’ve been a journalist for more than 15 years. Look at me very carefully, do I look like a journalist who will disclose my sources to you?” A visibly angry Sannie charged: “How dare you talk to me like that?”
The program remained heated until it had to be abruptly ended by the hosts.
When contacted, producers at GTV however told Citi Sports that the show was ended because it had overrun and not because of an order from senior management, as was widely speculated in the past few days.

It was reported about a month ago that the government of Ghana has given the GFA and Sports Ministry about $10 million for the world cup tournament. According to the Minister of Information, this $10 million was approved by the government. A few days later, the information minister released another report clarifying that the about $10 million was going to be given to the sports authorities not as a loan, but as a free offer to the sports authorities. If the said amount is not a loan, then that means Blackstars already have $19.5 million to play with. Folks, even if the Blackstars lose all its three group matches, the minimum it has earned so far as a qualifying team is $9.5 million, $8.0 million given to all the 32 teams plus $1.5 million as preparation expenses, this is not even counting the appearance fees FIFA give to the teams for their friendly matches. That means we earned a certain amount of fees on our last friendly match with Montenegro, that could be as low as $100,000 or as much as $1.0 million. We are going to earn more money on our subsequent friendly matches coming up including the one with Holland that can put one million dollars more in Blackstars account, these are some of the information our Sports Authourities are not telling Ghanaians.
It is because of these appearance fees that we don't see the Blackstars playing their friendly matches in Ghana because if they play in USA or the European countries, they earn higher appearance fees.
This made a total of $34 million given to the GFA and Sports Ministry for the 2010 world cup not counting the appearance fees we earned from friendly matches played and that is why ESPN and The Guardian newspapers reported that, Blackstars earned $18.0 million and not the $11.0 million as reported by the GFA and the Sports Ministry who have failed to respond about this confusion .
