Please inform yourself before you sound off!
The gas was injected back underground, not flared, and especially not "aired." That would have been more than dangerous.

Are you an engineer in the oil or petrochemical industry? It surprises me you write such foolish words without finding out the truth. That is sheer illiteracy. Do you know how much it cost the Ghana Government for recycling the gas back to the ground until it becomes necessary for the gas to be used, instead of flaring it? This is unique, and it is typical Ghanaian. We should be praised. How many countries amongst the oil producing countries of the world have such a programme in place? None.

So who is benefiting from the oil boom?
Is it the oil companies or Ghana?
They take 85% share of profits, we take less than 15%. They only begun paying tax to our exchequer last year, after 5 years of operation.

This is well and truly, a rip-off! The oil is booming for foreign oil companies, not for Ghana.
