The directives to protect the Cedi should have included, taking the forex operations from the hands of the foreign banks, black marketeers and placed it into the hands of the local banks. Additionally, the rumour is floating that, the dollars finding its ways into the hands of the black marketeers is from you BOG. It is believed there are unscrupulous persons within BOG who do not have the country at heart and are in brisk business with the dollar. Previously, the black marketeers have old dollars notes. Immediately after the directive from BOG all of the black marketeers have new notes. The question is where did the black marketeers get the new notes from.

black market dealers have new notes so what? do you guys now black market guys operate? They have network of 'dealers' at the airports, borders and ports.

for forex bureaux association, if one is transacting genuine business, why would they have a problem of showing identification or as they put it providing their 'particulars'....the citizens of this country are as corrupt as the leaders/politicians.

In the USA you are not allowed to bring in or go out with physical cash more than $10,000. Ghana is not doing anything new. The Ghana gov is heading towards the right direction in this matter.
