It makes you wonder if those appointees tasked with ministerial responsibility understand what it is they are supposed to demand from these grossly over-paid executives,who run the day-to-day affairs of statutory public organizations? Do you honestly believe performance metric has ever been part of the vocabulary of any of our state insitutions?

(high distribution cost for sparsely populated areas) to offer this kind of service,particularly when the source of power generation is far removed from consumers, and small &independent suppliers are absent.

Ga Power, Duke electric Con-ed...Then you may have smaller citys with their own systems buying a wholesale rates from the big companies or co-op with others to own dams and generators and reselling the power..The private companys of course are looking for profit and you can sell what you don't produce..So lights out is not making money...Problem with gov. employess is they will get their salarys lights out or on!

When Are these "strategic plans" to be achieved? Are they really strategic plans or tactical plans? The five pillars (customer satisfaction, system reliability, operational efficiency, organizational culture and loss reduction) sound more like tactical plans rather than strategic plans.
Strategic plan for ECG should look at a continuous improvement plan should lead to ECG not imposing DUMSO DUMSO on the residents of Ghana for the next 20 to 30 years supported by the above five basic management processes no considered by the MD as a "Strategic Plan". Very sad management application as everything in Ghana IS "STRATEGIC" even if it is not near tactical.
