It said the deal was reported to be the best ever made for Merchant Bank but the offer was mysteriously rejected in favour of a less known entity.
It said the deal purportedly entered between Fortis Private Equity Fund Limited and the Government of Ghana with the tacit approval of the Bank of Ghana was not good enough and amounted to short-changing the taxpayer and the contributors whose money SSNIT invested.

Corruption does not come in the ways we think they do. It takes all sorts of forms and manifestations.
The Country has Banking laws. The key to confidence in these laws are the transparency in which decisions are made to uphold the laws and any other financial directives in force made by the Ministry of Finance, The Bank of Ghana and or the President.
All the evidence suggest that First Rand and Fortiz are the leading Banks interested in purchasing the Merchant Bank. Let the decision about which of these Banks is favoured be as transparent as is possible taking all the relational factors into account
As there seems to be already suspicions that Fortiz is being favoured although it is less qualified, here is an opportunity for Dr Aidoo, the AG and the Chief of Staff to make discreet enquires in order to convince themselves that there are no "cony cony" business that will give rise to ideas of corruption.

Just look at the background of people (not those like you) who are into this business. The people in charge of this Fortiz entity are suspicious.
