    Not only our cocoa,but all our food crops too. A large percentage of the land is contaminated with sodium cyanide and mercury. Thus, our food source is threatened

    why can't everyone use "natural bug deterrents" like planting candulea flowers among the crops or peppermint plants... instead of chemicals..learn to grow organically.All these chemicals run off into the water and streams too ...

    These chemicals get into the hands of our farmers who are almost all illiterates..... even most of the sellers are illiterates. The current spate of deaths all over the country is due to these chemicals.

    There are trained extension officers for the training task,but they are in AIR CONDITIONERS & STATE-OF THE-ART APARTMENT BUILDING,AND WOULD NOT GO TO THE BUSH.

    I am not surprised about this news. I have seen ads on TV showing spraying pesticide on cocoa pods. After the spraying, you see the pesticide dripping from the pod. It appears too much of the chemical is sprayed on the pod.
