You can't successfully restructure the economy without, first and foremost, restructuring the mindset of the people. The economy is a reflection of how we think and what we think. As a man thinks, so he is, the Bible tells. in other words, the country is the product of how and what we think and prioritize. Bottomline!

We have all kinds of structural changes and policies till kingdom come.If the people are not committed to its effectiveness, nothing would happen. We'll be standing at the same sport and marking time.
Our problem is that majority of Ghanaians believe STRONGLY that the ONLY WAY to survive is to cheat at the first opportunity they get.
This mindset is entrenched in the body politic of most of us.It starts from the top and spreads all throughout the fabric of the nation.Getting involved in politics is the surest way to make it big so talking about structural changes and policies is a waste of time.
Ghanaians must have a change of heart and realize that stealing from each other with impunity has not served us for half a century of self rule and would not serve us for the next century unless and until we change our mentality and attitude towards the way we govern ourselves.
It all should start from the recognition that the Rule Of Law, NOT OF MEN,should be our national mantra and guidepost. We should be scared of the LAW AND ITS ENFORCEMENT.FROM THE PRESIDENT TO THE LAYMAN ON THE STREETS OF GHANA.THAT IS WHAT NEEDS TO BE CHANGED!!!

Whereas it is true to some extent that the mindset needs restructuring,it is equally imperative to ensure that we strongly uphold the rule of law of the land. There must not be any interference whatsoever in the application of the laws of the land. Some people in position of authority are noted to have hijacked the rule of law, interfered in its application and worse of all live above the law.In order to uproot corruption in the country, an example needs to be set from the above by jailing those found to have embezzled or misappropriated the state funds.

Plse remember that the chuech has failed in preaching against moral decadence and has turned into preaching politics. The corrupt money ends up in the church and you only accept them and say i sanctify it and use it to buy your big cars. Please let the church revise notes on how to inculcate righteousness in our members and corruption, bribery and embezzlement will reduce if not eliminated. Thank you and God bless you

You have a damaged mindset: if you think those in the church are not the same citizens called Ghanaians and therefore have the aright to demand accountability from our leaders.

I firmly believe that sooner or later, the moderator of the Presbyterian church will announce his intention to lead the opposition NPP as Nana Addo is about to be made redundant and the position will be vacant for all to apply. The leader of the Presbyterian Church is so deep into politics and his love for NPP is crystal clear,he has forgotten to preach the word of GOD but rather preach politics.I would not mind if he is neutral and persuasive in his arguments, but his aggressive and short of details attitude shows he is just an angry man,he misses his diplomatic passport.A religious leader of his sort should be persuasive and direct his know how to the proper channels. There are millions of religious leaders all over the world who play leadership roles for the development of their various countries, they are partners in development but this man is an angry man,he has forgotten the word of GOD,he has lost it.

Mr. Martey, fix the problems in the Presbyterian Church first. The large amounts of monies sent to local Presbyterian churches from overseas are largely misappropriated by your pastors. Remove the log in your eyes first.

Folks, no amount of talk or whatever can wave any magic to heal us from our myriad of problem. These western nations that we are trying to copy, have build their nations on two things; TRUTH AND THE RULE OF LAW. These are the cornerstone on which true democracy is build.
If we are not truthful to ourselves and the nation, how do we develop? A dishonest person or whatever cannot lead and these are the people we have as leaders and citizens as well so, where do we go from here?
Also, another problem we have as Ghanaians is how we abuse the law of the land. What is a law if we do not allow it to take on those who go against it? Some of us are of the view that due to our educational background, we can go against the law and walk free.
How many Ghanaians have stolen from the nation and are walking free as if all is well? Are they honest, no and are they above the law? Yes. So, how do we develop if we sidestepped the basic things that is the bedrock of democracy?
Let the Executive, the Judiciary, the Legislature, CEOs, Civil Servants and any entity that is part and parcel of Ghana, disrespect TRUTH AND THE RULE OF LAW, Ghana will never see the progress. How will an honest person steal and if you respect the law, how will you go against it?
