One of the reasons of the exercise was to get rid of the Chinese and their heavy machinery in the galamsey business because these machines do greater damage to the environment, so selling these machines to Ghanaian galamsey people will defeat the aim of the exercise. It doesn't matter in whose hands these machines are, the environmental damage is still the same. These machines should be dismantled and sold as scrap. We need a new policy on galamsey.
