We have about 60% of our workforce in Agric producing less than 40% of our gdp. The VP as a banker should realise we rather need less people in agric but more capital in the form of training and equipment to increase productivity in this area. Clearly our industries earn us more income and provides the market for the agric sector so an intelligent man will know what policies to bring in.

HOW CANTHE NATION INCREASE AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTOVITY AND FOOD SECUROTY WITH THE SECTOR DOMINATED BY PEASANT FARMERS.
IT SEEMS TO ME WE DO NOT KNOW WHERE WE ARE AND WHERE WE ARE GOING.
WITHOUT THE EFFORTS AND HARDWORK OF THE NATIONS ILLITERATE PEASANT FARMERS; WE SHOULD HAVE NOWHERE IN THE COUNTRY.
HOW ON ERATH SHOULD THE COUNTRY BE FED BY PEASANT FARMERS.
THIS IS SHAMEFUL AND DISGRACEFUL.
DO WE HAVE TO PRODUCE AGRICULTURAL GRADUATES, ABSORB THEM AT THE MINISTRY OF AGRICULTURE AND FOR THEM TO WORK WITH ILLITERATE PEASANT FARMERS.
HOW WILL THE NATION INCREASE AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTITY AND FOOD SECURITY.
THIS SOUNDS VERy REDICULOUS IN THE 21st CENTURY.
FORWARD THINKING LEADS TO NEW POSSIBILITIES AND NEW OPPORTUNITIES.
WE DO STILL HAVE MANY ROCKY AND DUSTY ROADS BEFORE US.

FARMERS AT HARVEST TIME SEEK FOR BUYERS AND FIND NON. FRO INSTANCE FARMERS IN AKUMADAN SPEND MILLIONS ON CULTIVATION OF TOMATOES AND AT HARVEST TIME ITS ALWAYS PATETIC TO SEE TOMATOES GET ROTTEN BCOS THERE IS NO ONE TO BUY THEM ALTHOUGH AKUMADAN IS THE LEADING PRODUCER OF TOMATOES IN GHANA. GET UP ALL AND LETS FIGHT FOR THE COUNTRY. I HAVE HOPE IN GHANA.

Government has set up pack houses and fruit terminals and trained farmers within the horticultural industry though MIDA however these facilities are idle due to inadequate working capital.

The agric sector has continued to experience negative growth and as of the last report of the gov't statistician, the agric sector recorded negative growth. Growth actually declined in the agric sector. One then needs to ask if gov't has still not learnt it's lessons and would still want to engage in needless propaganda, when the figures and facts on the ground do not support the statements they are making about the agric sector.

THE THEME OF THE 6th AGRICULTURAL SCIENCE WEK AND FORUM FOR AGGRICULTURAL RESEARCH IN AFRICA WAS ON
'''AFRICA FEEDING AFRICA THROUGH AGRICULTURAL SCIENCE AND INNOVATION.
BUT, IT SOUNDED ON THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION, WHEN THE PRESIDENT OF THE INTERNATIONAL FUND FOR AGRICULTURAL DEVELOPMEMNT(IFAD)CALLED ON AFRICAN LEADERS TO FOCUS AGRICULTURE DEVELOPMENT´EFFORTS ON SMALL HOLDER FARMERS, BECAUSE,THAT WILL HAVE THE POTENTIAL OF ENSURING FOOD´SECURITY ON THE CONTINENT.
Dr KANANO F. NWANZA APPEAL TO AFRICAN LEADERS HAS TO BE TERMED AS #''CONTRADICTORY'' TO THE MAIN SUBJECT MATTER AT THE CONFERENCE.
AFRICA FARMING SYSTEM IS STILL DOMINATED BY ILLITERATE PEASANT FARMERS, AND WHO CANNOT UNDERSTAND AND APPLY COMPLICATED PRODUCTION METHODS. ONLY MIDDLE LEVEL PROFESSIONAL SKILLS, AS TRAINED FARMERS, ARTISANS AND TECHNICIANS ARE NEEDED FIRST, BEFORE ANY COUNTRY CAN EFFECTIVELY CARRY THROUGH ITS AGRICULTURAL DEVELOPMENT AND TO INCREASE PRODUCTIVITY AND FOOD SECURITY.
IT IS TIME, THE OLD THEORIES OF THE THE EIGHTEENTH(18th)THROUGH TO NINETEENTH(19th)CENTURIES THAT HAVE CONTINUED TO HINDER AFRICA'S AGRICULTURAL DEVELOPOMENT ARE THROWN OUT FOR NEW STRATEGIES THAT WILL LEAD TO AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTIVITY IN AFRICA.
IT IS TIME WE STOP REPEATING THE SAME SERIOUS MISTAKES IN THE 21st CENTIURY
OTHERWISE; WE WILL REAMAIN UNDERDEVRLOPED AND POOR.
WE SHOULD BE OLD ENOUGH TO KNOW THE RIGHT STRATEGIES TO BOOST PRODUCTION ON THE CONTINENT.
