This country Ghana will for ever regret jubillating the overthrow of the Late President Nkrumah. If ever there was a man with foresight, surely, it was Kwame Nkrumah. Had he been allowed to carry on, as my Prof. of Geography said, he would have either succeeded or failed catastrophically. I told Mr. Griffics that his success would have spelled the doom of the British economy because at the time (1966), the African countries of the Commonwealth were the mainstay of the British economy: that all Africa would have copied Ghana's success.
Now, we are all still suffering from our misguided and disastrous overthrow of our man of destiny. That, to me, is one reason why so many countries look down on our lack of foresight and take us for a ride.

PREZ KWAME NKRUMAH MADE A SPEECH DURING GHANA INDEPENDENCE DAY THAT “FROM NOW ON WE MUST CHANGE OUR ATTITUDE AND MINDS”. THAT IS, WE SHOULD NOT ALLOW OURSELVES TO BE RULED/DOMINATE BY ALIENS/FOREIGNERS.
GHANA MUST REPENT QUICKLY AND EMBRACE DR. KWAME NKRUMAH AND HIS VISIONS ABOUT GHANA/AFRICA TO HELP GHANA AND AFRICA GET TO THE TOP.
AFRICA MUST QUICKLY EMBRACE HON MARCUS GARVEY, DR. KWAME NKRUMAH, MALCOM X AND THEIR VISIONS FOR AFRICA WITHOUT DELAY TO HELP AFRICA MOVE TO THE TOP. IT IS TOO FRAGILE/DANGEROUS FOR AFRICA TO WASTE TIME IN EMBRACING HON MARCUS GARVEY, DR. KWAME NKRUMAH, MALCOM X AND THEIR VISIONS FOR AFRICA. EVERY AFRICAN/STUDENT FROM THE LOWEST GRADE/KINGDERGARDEN TO THE MOST HIGHEST EDUCATION/UNIVERSITY AND A PROFESSOR MUST/COMPULSORY STUDY HON MARCUS GARVEY’S, DR. KWAME NKRUMAH’S, MALCOM X’S TEACHINGS/IDEAS/VISIONS ABOUT AFRICA. GOD BLESSES AFRICA AMEN.

Thanks to Busia and the CIA for the stoppage of such a well-intentioned project meant to accelerate the the development of the nation.Where are all the factories [over 60] that Osagyefo established to industrialize the country and create jobs for ghanaians? After the 1966 coup all the factories were abandoned and left to rot all because of political expediency. The interest of the nation was relegated to the background. And now Ghana is the heaviest loser from such unpatriotic and shortsighted decisions based purely on politics.Afrifa,Busia,Kotoka and JWK Harley must be charged posthumously with treason for collaborating with an external enemy[the CIA] to undermine the economic development of the country. The military took power and from there it was all about mismanaging the economy of the nation-at times with destructive inteferances from them IMF.

Osagyefo inspired Nelson Mandela and the ANC leadership to fight to liberate South Africa from the apartheid white regime which the very western countries praising Nelson Mandela supported.Nelson Mandela is only important for south africans.Osagyefo is important for africa and black people all over the world. He encouraged and inspired south africans to overthrow the apartheid regime which oppressed africans and denied them their right to govern themselves.Osagyefo said'Ghana's independence is meaningles unless it is linked up with the total liberation of Africa'.And truly Ghana's independence accelerated the fight for black south africans to rule themselves.LONG LIVE OSAGYEFO!!!!

Kofi Adu - your comparison is senseless. For the FOUR YEARS that Nelson Madela was President of South Africa, can you LIST the CAPITAL PROJECTS of repute that he (Nelson Mandela) started and completed? Nelson Mandela is a hero in the Apartheid fight but that does not make him a good president because he did not achieve anything of importance as a President.

We failed to heed his words. Just look where we are now, borrowing at every turn even to pay cocoa farmers for their produce. Our infrastructure is built by foreigners, and all the major sectors of our economy controlled by foreign interests.
We need to heed Nkrumah's clarion call, and learn to be self-reliant.

The best tribute to Nkrumah would be to carry forward his vision and bring it to fruition.
We must reactivate the projects he started and make them work for the benefit of our country.

Dr Kwame Nkrumah had incredible vision and political acumen than anybody in the world in his time, but the dumps and the little minds of the Ghanaian society at the time helped the enemies of Ghana's progress to drive him out the scene. Over half a century now, more of Nkrumah's ideas have been taken up elsewhere at the expense of Ghana. Today, there are still people in Ghana who are blind and mindless to resurrect his projects.

Nkrumah had vision, and worked tirelessly to bring this to fruition.
Where is the vision in leadership today?
