We know the project has stalled, but they want us to believe it has slowed down. The Govt is broke. God has indeed ordained Mahama to lie.

It defies any cogent imagination that such an economic life line, adding to the country's wealth and progress ,could be struggling for a necessary fund to see the light. "Stalling" or "slowing down" come to the same conclusion. My advice to the governement is to spend less now to avoid spending more in the future.

The plans of the originators of the oil and gas industry were thwarted when that government was voted out of office. The winning party which campaigned on vile propaganda lacked business accumen & could not continue with the numerous projects bequeathed by the defeated government. The people are now reaping the results of their vote.

No one is surprised that the construction of the gas processing plant at Atuabo is stalled for lack of funds. There are those who prefer the project to remain incorporated in the original Jubilee plan; a private concern - perhaps, to give those involved in the arrangement the opportunity to own shares in the enterprise - and those who prefer it to be state owned as contained in the amended plan. The former group has inclination to put impediment in the way to have the project not completed as scheduled, and the latter group, too, has determination to get the plant completed on schedule through present arrangements. The problem confronting the latter is that the state has no funds of its own to carry the objective through. These two entrenched positions are causing delay of the project coming on stream and, effectively, wrecking the Ghanaian economy at present. Therefore, in order to make headway in infrastructure and, thus, relevant economic advancement, Ghana should choose, in positive terms, a private enterprise option to build and/or own them - with the people accepting to pay the relative rates/prices to be imposed in using them. Conversely, the state gets funding through grants and loans to create the infrastructure of the country in anticipation that their use will generate economic activities for the benefit of the people. One way or other, it is a choice we must take if Ghana were to progress as a country worth living in.
