They (the Chinese)now want to sell coal to us, the coal that has turned their cities into smogs. They have destroyed their environment, now they want us to destroy ours. We have enough clean environment so it doesn't hurt to pollute it, says Li whatever. He should shut up, he cannot dictate our energy policies for us. He is thinking of his pocket. Anyway if we are thinking of building a nuclear plant, why waste resources on such environmentally hazardous sources?, why the haste. The gas plants are not economically viable in the long term due to its high running cost, and coal is the most pollutant of the environment and depletion of the ozone layer. We cannot go that way when the rest of the world are shying away from it. We will be fools indeed if we take this bait. No way to coal as alternate source of fuel. This is 19th- 20th century technology.

most plants in usa are being changed to natural gas..Coal smoke causes acid rain, mercury fallout etc...Natural gas plants are much cheaper currently untill gas( natural not Lp) increase!
