Totally agree: That is no news! Tons of money go to consultants for compiling papers that are of NO USE whatsoever to the projected beneficiaries!

WB has a long way to go in achieving this goal. I hope they don't end up cooking the figures/data to show that this has been achieved, especially for the developing world. In the past both the WB and the IMF have presented (wrongful) evidence which ended up being misleading or harmful to the poor in the developing nations just to show such objectives had been achieved. Rise up to the task now please, WB.

I'm wondering how anyone or any organization can manange to eradicate extreme poverty globally. I live in the US which has the largest and most developed economy in the world. And believe me, I've seen thousands of people in New York City alone who live under the yoke of extreme poverty. If that's happening in US, it's spurious to claim that extreme poverty can be eliminated in all the under-developed and developing nations.
