WHY MUST GHANA ALWAYS RESORT TO BORROWING AND A WHOLE PRESIDENT TAKES PRIDE IN INAUGURATING THIS AS IF IT IS A MAJOR ACHIEVEMENT? WHATEVER HAPPENED TO DEPRECIATION IN THE ACCOUNTING BOOKS OF VRA AND ECG? DIDN'T THEY ANTICIPATE THAT AT SOME POINT THEY WOULD HAVE TO REPLACE OBSOLETE EQUIPMENT? WHAT HAPPENED TO ALL THE REVENUE THAT ACCRUED TO EXPORTING POWER TO TOGO AND BENIN? I FEEL QUITE ASHAMED GHANA HAD TO GO TO WORLD BANK FOR $16.8M. AND THE PRESIDENT IS PROUD OF THIS.

At the Inauguration of the 16.8 million dollar Gridco Project at Kpone President Mahama stated that "the government would conduct full-scale investigations to ascertain the cause of the outbreaks" referring to the rampant fire outbreaks the country has been witnessing for some years now reaching its peak in the first five months of the year 2013. It is very ridiculous for the President to now tell us after very serious fires that have consumed much property and caused loss of many lives he will investigate the causes of these horrendous fires. What do the President and the government take us for? In all these years no serious thinking has been lost on the causes and the containment of these causes. We still don't know for sure what caused the fire that gutted the house of the former President J.J.Rawlings. In fact, any investigations by whosover will be a total waste of our precious time and an unnecessary drain of our national coffers. There are a multitude of known causes, which are plain to see. So why investigate?
Here are some of the causes:
1)Shoddy work
2)Use of low quality materials, termed affordable
3)Poor maintenance attitude
4)Practical lawlessness in the country
5)Irresponsibility and so and so forth
Most of these causes are normal ghanaian behaviour and until we learn to change these attitudes we shall not be able to reduce not only the fires but also domestic and road accidents among other menaces.

Good work but a reactive government. The damage caused to the economy and people's livelihood can never be forgotten. Better planning as a government needed in all sectors of the economy..
