No,no,no african economies are "owned' by western and chinese corporate entities and will continue to do so.Ghana's oil and gold are under them, zambia's copper is done by china,Sudanese oil is extracted by China,Angolan oil is extracted by foreigners as is Nigerian oil.Simply put,no african country has the expertise and the capital to start liberating our african economies. And to think something low tech like trash collection is proving too hard for african cities then i give up on gold, diamond or oil mining ever coming under africa's homegrown companies.

Why bother? God is on our side, we shall triumph! As long as we cannot think, but rather make people think for us, we shall get what we want as we want and when we want. If Japan, with practically no natural resource is this rich, what are we complaining of? Is it only natural resources that makes a country rich? Can't we develop our heads to think like those who are still colonizing us? Instead we proclaim that God's time is the best, yes it is, so let's sit down and chill. Why worry?

the pressing immediate problems confronting the countRY GHANA ARE - no electricity, no water, rife in corruption, high incompetence levels, etc.
At the moment JOHN MAHAMA has NOT articulated any vision for the country and his governance. Ghanaians don't know what he stands for except his mere promises and lies.
For sustainable socio-economic development Ghana needs ACCOUNTABLE GOVERNANCE not mere promises without action as characterised BY MAHAMA'S "leadership".

Some African countries including Ghana are contented with their over reliance on primary goods (commodity goods) at the expense of processed (value added) goods and services. Value addition creates jobs and it could be the foundation for the cottage industry in Africa and the developing world, a reliable source for foreign exchange, its acceptance will also enhance indigenous technology and specialization, reduce unemployment through its inherent “multiplier effect,” further it will also ensure the diversification of African economies (no country in the world will like to place all its eggs in one basket) and negate the perishability of primary goods (commodity goods) through processing. Finally, valued added goods value more on the International market than raw materials.

I very good article I've read another article on the way Asians treat Africans in their nations. Not good a commodity based indutrialisation would be a good thing more trade amongst African nations please. The Chines can then be told to stick their 3b loan and toddle along without Copper, Cobalt etc. If you really want to know why Africa is poor and why the Asians and Whites nations like it that way. Read Walter Rodney's How Europe Underdeveloped Africa a very good work. I can see the green shoots of Africans getting fed up of being treated like shit by the rest of the world from the positive comments here.
