If we are claiming that inflation in the country is at a single digit yet the IMF is gravely "disappointed" particularly with the scaling-up of the fiscal deficit, then perhaps we are not being told the whole truth about the state of our economy. The Statistical Service and the NDC should tell the truth about the current inflationary rate. Current trends in the economy do not lend themselves to an economy that prides itself in a single digit inflation. We need the truth.

All 5 of you have poured insults and missed the point. When you say " can do better" , it means there is room for improvement and the report goes on to highlight the areas. When energy subsidies were removed were you not the ones shouting? Now you sing a different tune. Who signed on the SSS? was it not K4? Did he belong to the NDC or NPP. Think guys , guys

W're thinking buddy that's why we've been ringing the alarm bells and waving a big red flag but the NDC have always had the head in the sand mentality. The SSSS is in itself not a bad idea. The devil is in its implementation by the inept NDC administration. Since the NDC were not the originators of the idea they messed up with its implementation just as they did with the JSS and SSS policy. The JSS and SSS educational policy was the brainchild of the Busia administration but they could not initiate its implementation before they were overthrown by the military in 1972. The Rawlings led PNDC bereft of ideas to govern the nation stole the idea from the Busia administration and woefully failed in its implementation. Simply stated, the NDC are copy cats or what others call boot leggers but they have always been poor at it. The only boot legging they do almost to perfection is corruption, misappropriations, mismanagement, indiscipline and flatlining the economy.

Though I do not remember any educational reform under Busia , when NPP came to power for 8 yeras why did they not correct the NDC mess ? SSS is Ok IF the funds are available

Yes, the NPP was in power for 8years and they did a lot for JSS and SSS education like the school feeding program and the time spent in school before graduation. When the NDC came back to power they reversed everything and the result is what we're all witmesssing today. You know it's more difficult to re-build or repair the harm that has already been done.Sometimes you realize it's more costly to rebuild from the mess created and for expediency sake you repair with available funds. You cannot fix everything on the word go due to financial contraints.

Daseking, tell the oil companies to fulfill their tax obligations.
This way we can balance the budget and find money for development.

Perhaps, Ghanaian workers and their peers in the NPP do not want Ghana to be transformed. They want the status quo until the NPP is in power. The two also, shamefully, do not care how long the status quo exists. It is recalled that the NPP forerunner, the UP, did all it could to stop Ghana getting Independence in the 1950s - Dr Nkrumah/CPP thwarted its efforts - today, its successor, NPP, is also doing all it can to stop the transformation of the country for the better. People believe that the NPP would never ever be in any consensus, agreed by the majority of the population, unless it is the pivot. That's the character of the party!
