I am at a loss of words that i happen to be the first person to put down my comment. I mean that i am damned surprise.I think i should not be, at all, since the African and Ghanaian leadership in Govt have shown no key interest toward Development and had they, the Leadership, had the sci/tech issue to have become the pivotal dream on the continent. After all, this is a continent and a country, like many others in Africa, so bedeviled with superstition that one will go to a Pastor or a fetish priest to consult and ask why his window or door or chicken is broken down or dead. Oh, when will the Black -man wake up from sleep to face reality?

Superstition is killing us. Every illness and death is caused by some unseen dark powers. Our leaders are my greatest disappointment. Many of them have lived and studied in western civilizations but come back home as leaders of their nation with the same backwardness and mindset. Our scientific and tecnological revolution will never take off if we continue to elect apes and chimpanzees who still have a fourteenth century superstitious mindset.

You're wrong and if this is what you think of these brilliant scholars then you're not any better than the superstition infected minds that abound in Ghana. You're a superstitious and tribal bigot. I read your comments all the time and you don't qualify in any way to be the judge of people who have invested time, energy and financial resources to educate themselves. You should rather invest your time and energy advising an inept and corrupt administration that's bent on dissipating our national resources on frivolous and profligate adventures. They won't pay doctors and teachers salaries but they find money to pay themselves huge salaries and back pay, huge benefits , huge end of service benefits whilst they're still on the job, and manage to make "gargantuan" judgement debt payments to their friends and cronies. How many more times will they pay themselves ESBs before they finally retire or are retired? The monies wasted could do a lot in scientific and tecnological research and education but that's never their priority.

Bro, say it loud and again and for the umpteenth time until ears hard of hearing and hardened hearts are penetrated for herein lies our development and growth. I agree superstitious beliefs are a major impediment to our march towards development and until we as a nation embark on a major national campaign against superstitious beliefs and invest heavily in scientific and technological research and education we must forget every dream about development and growth.

No Prof. I'd honorably refute this. IT IS "NKOMFEM" BEFORE SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY.

Science and technology is key to growth. Reducing the number of foreign banks, their operations and branches to the barest minimum while replacing them with Ghanaian banks would make a big difference in our economy. This is because the foreign banks make a lot of profit and when they transfer it out of the country it affects our gdp negatively.
Let me ask the minister of finance and governor of Bank of Ghana. How much in profits did the foreign banks make and how much was transferred out of the country. How did it affect our GDP and sovereign current account balance.
