careless and inconsiderate drivers are the killers on the roads not used tyres.used tyres are sold everywhere even in more advanced countries. proper inspection of used tyres at the ports is very necessary. the bad ones can be confiscated and the dealer made to pay some fee for their disposal. but here again, cos of corruption, an officer will tell you the whole consignment is bad just to get something from the importer to line his pockets.if you ban second hand tyres, go ahead and also ban the importation of second hand vehicles and used parts.you have banned the importation of used fridges - some used fridges are cfc free and environmentally friendly. why not use the same selective process to regulate the flow of used fridges into the country? we may soon ban everything cos our system of govt is also second hand.

Even in the Developed Countries, millions rely on used tires. The problem with ghana is some people import winter tyres which are not good from the tropics and our roads too are horrible.

Practically NONSENSE!! NRSRC has created another opportunity for custom officials to put more money into their pockets. Creating more cumbersome procedures at the port. Brainless lot!! Then BAN USED TYRES period.

The last time i checked, more accidents in Ghana is caused by poor judgement on the part of drivers that leads to wrongful overtaking. Can you blame tyres for that?NRSC should stop the arm chair analysis.I bought a brand new tyre that burst after rubbing the side on a small stone. Can this tyre withstand a heated road and a speed of 120km/h.When i saw this i quickly replaced those tyres because it was clear i could not travel anywhere with those tyres and i wont wait for it to blast.
