Why can't Railway and their Allied workers go on strike, as they did during Nkrumah's time on the advice the Opposition Party, (United Party), to coerce Mahama's government? Or, are the Railway Workers not powerful enough today as they were at the time to embark on that destructive road? Nkrumah had made the railways as the wheel of his economic development policy and, therefore invested heavily in the sector, but was let down the Union listening to the Opposition to cause hardship in the country. In the end, the sector was deprived of investment when Nkrumah was overthrown, and articulator vehicles were introduced to transport heavy goods with destructive effect to our roads.

You are right in saying that well-managed railways are vital to the economy.
If you know those who are trying to sell off railway lands and assets, you owe it to the nation to expose them and report them to the Police and ... read full comment

Yes, yes, yes...I am the African American male that West africans in the US call, "akata" behind my back. Me, with 20 yrs experience on US railroads and a very early retirement. Am the one whom can teach Ghanaians in US how to work together and produce a 1st class RR in Ghana in less than 20 yrs easily across the whole country.Ghana's economy would shoot through the roof and become 1st world.
Yes, yes, yes, I am the one whom could teach Ghanaian Americans how to ban together online via networking and use affiliate marketing and mlm marketing to create a $10,000 per week income for everyone involoved after 6 months of their participation...no problem. Can you imagine 5,000 or 10,000 GH-Americans returning to Ghana with the weekly wealth online to build such a RR?
Unfortunately, closed-minded, inward folks lack the creativity to do anything but call me,"akata"!
Africa suffers still.
