Kosmos, have you fulfilled your tax obligations?
Are you employing as many Ghanaians as possible and training them to acquire expertise in the oil industry?

It is nice to hear the a compnay has been able to achieve such a mark. But as a safety and health specialist, I always hesitate when I here this. I am afraid the 'so-called' incentives for achieving the zero injury etc. does not encourage employees from reporting safety related incident...they do not want to feel like the person who spoilt the who record when they were so close to achieving the goal. I think it's a very bad idea to great a safety culture of achieving zero incidents...it's just impossible...The fact that employees are not reporting does not really reflect the true nature and state of safety and health in the company. Try a culture of reducing injuries and incident not ZERO....I don't trust this at all....
Even an office environment will not record a zero incident in a year how much more a heavy industry like oil and gas? Think about this people.

I am sure the subject referred to here is LTI which is lost time injury, and not just incidents or accidents. As an expert, I think it’s achievable. My company is in the 3rd year with no LTI. Yvonne, you seem to confuse incidents with injury. Yes, you can have as many incidents and injuries. But what makes it important is, the injury did not prevent you from coming to work the next day. That is No Lost Time Injury (LTI). I do agree with you on the so called give outs or incentives. It's a tricky subject with some strengths and weaknesses. I don't think I have the space for a discussion. At the end of the day we need to try all possible ways to prevent our workers from getting injured by any means necessary. That calls for more than incentives and procedures…….
