A series of visionless and irresponsible leaders have put African countries, albeir endowed tih natural resources in a debt ridden position. These countries have no negotiating power when it comes to dealing with international agencies or private investors. They therefore succumb to ANY offers made especially if it comes with a few perks for the group leader.

If one government official will negotiate for 10% kickback and sell a national property worth $100 million to a whiteman for $20 milllion and have the whiteman pay $2 million into the official's personal bank account, do we call this guy greedy? No, he is STUPID for giving away $78 million.
We negotiate oil deal at 90% to 10% because we don't have the tools and the knowledge to drill oil. Do we ONLY have to have the expertise in oil technology to benefit? The answer is NO! What we need is business sense, to give them the contract to to do the work for us for pay them. WE ACT TOO STUPID.

People in Ghana should undersatnd that there are not export revenue coming in. All our resources have been sold to the highest bidder with not money coming to the country. Why have we found oil the oid is refined outside and we turn around and buy from them or from other countries. Now people are talking about TOR, the Energy minister and its Director as been a disgrace when the oil contract was signed by NPP. Not to put blame on any particular party but it just donst' make sense some of these arguments been put forward by fellow Ghanaians.

I don't know the clauses in Ghana's petroleum bill, but when NPP signed Anadarko-Kosmos deal, those companies took a very high risk for the sake of uncertainty.
However, after the whole world had realised that Ghana was oil rich, NDC went on to sign subsequent oil deals at the same rate of 10% to 90% which NPP signed out of ignorance and anguish. So who has acted more foolish among these two useless parties?

In the year 2000 we went HIPC, it will not be fair to the ordinary Ghanaian for NDC to send us back to HIPC

EVERY EXPERT WHETHER GHANIAN OR FOREIGNER WHO LOOKS AT OR ANALYSES THE GHANAIAN ECONOMY COULD TELL THAT THE COUNTRY IS ON A WRONG ROAD. ANALYSING THE THE PRESIDENT'S STATE OF THE NATION ADDRESS UNVEILS THE GLARING DARK PICTURE OF GHANAS ECONOMY AND ALMOST EVERYTHING IN GHANA. BUT THE PARTY IN POWER PRETENDS TO PORTRAY IT IN A DIFFERENT WAY. IAM VERY,VERY,VERY,SHOCKED THAT OUR BROTHERS AND SISTERS IN THE VOLTA REGION SEE IT DIFFERENTLY. EVEN THE SO CALLED EDUCATED ONES LIKE BORKOR SEES IT DIFFERENTLY. THIS IS NOT ABOUT ASHANTI, KWAHU, NZEMA, FANTI, AKYEM, BRONG, NORTH, ETC, ETC. IT IS ABOUT OUR OWN AND ONLY GHANA. VOLTARIANS PLAY POLITICS LIKE THEY DON'T LIVE IN GHANA. BUT WHEN "COUNTRY BROKE" I BELIEVE THAT THEY FEEL IT MORE THAN SOME OF THE TRIBES I HAVE MENTIONED. SO WHEN WILL MY BROTHERS AND SISTERS IN THE VOLTA REGION SEE, FEEL, SMEEL,AND HEAR GHANA AS OTHERS DO.THEY SAY "COUNTRY BROKE OR NO BROKE WE ALL DEY IN" BUT SOME DEY IN MORE THAN OTHERS.

This has largely come about because of the populist policies that the Kuffuor government left behind for the present government to implement.Kuffuor should be called upon to tell ghanaians how he was going to get funding for the implementation of 1,the free school feeding programme,2,social security payments to the elderly,3,the single spine salary scheme etc.Ghanaians want to know how he was going to fund these without resorting to internal borrowing. These populist economic policies meant to shore up and increase support for the NPP have brought economic disaster to the nation. How can a nation spending 60% of its income on paying wages undertake any meaningful economic development. This is a legacy from Kuffuor's populist economic policies.
