Governance in all state-owned enterprises in Ghana has shown failure across the board, and, it is very sad. We hate to hear the word privatization , and we are afraid of foreign domination of our country and our economy, but left in our hands, we do everything wrong. We are unconcerned, and we rob the States resources with impunity.
COCOBOD would be far better than it is now had it been a privately-owned enterprise. Which business owner will operate for more than 50 years and continually solicit loans every year in other to meet its obligations, where are the profits? Consider the following successive loans and tell me COCOBOD is on the right track:
I keep saying that we Black People are our own enemies. We continually blame White People for our nemesis, but frankly speaking, we are the problem!
Look at how Vodafone has been transformed Ghana Telecom from coma - they are reaping billions of dollars on our back, that is prudent management coming from visionary people!

Why did Cocoabod leave the poor farm labourer out of the pension scheme. What happened to the Suhum Cocoa Project? Buying cocoa beans from subsitent native farmers at guaranteed price was a colonia mentality and it can not be sustained. The way forward is to re-organise Cocobod to come out with a new organisation to reflect an independent nation. Let us accept the responsibility to govern ourselves.

If the COCOBOD has all these system in place in its managerial duties,WHY HAVE THEY NOT BEEN ABLE TO RAISE FUNDS TO PURCHASE COCOA BEANS,BUT HAS TO RELY ON LOANS UP TO THE TUNES OF 2 - 3 BILLION EVERY YEAR TO PURCHASE COCOA?WHEN DO THEY MAKE PROFIT TO BE ABLE TO STAND ON THEIR TWO FEET,TO PURCHASE THE BEAN THEMSELVES WITHOUT BORROWING,TO INCUR AN UNTOLD COST IN INTEREST PAYMENTS ON THE STATE?Secondly, when are starting to precess these beans before exporting,so value might be placed on the bean,to make better profit, while giving employment to our unemployed youth? If the MANAGEMENT WOULD PLEASE,ANSWER THESE TWO QUESTIONS,I WOULD LIKE IT A LOT,BECAUSE I HAVE THOUGHT OF THIS FOR A LONG TIME.IT BOTHERS ME A LOT.
