ONE SHOULD VISIT TARKWA AND SEE AFTER ALL THIS YEARS OF GOLD MINING WHAT HAS THIS COMPANIES DONE FOR THE PEOPLE OR THE DISTRICT AND COMPARE TO SOUTH AFRICA MINING TOWNS HOW THIS SAME COMPANIES HAVE DEVELOPE THE PLACE . THERE IS NO EVEN CLEAN WATER, WORSE ROADS AND POOR SANITATION AND THE SAME OLD 1944 BUILDINGS STILL STANDING THERE TODAY IN TARKWA .THIS MINING COMPANY AT LEAST CAN BUILD BETTER ROADS AND BETTER HOUSES SINCE THEY BEEN MAKING BILLION OF PROFIT EVERY YEAR FROM THIS AREA LIKE WHAT THEY BEEN DOING IN SOUTH AFRICA.ITS SO SHAME THIS COMPANIES STILL MILKING THE NATION AND THE SO CALLED LEADERS DON'T CARE OR DON'T SEE . They should help by improving the workers condition of service,expecially the junior staff. This should be a good weapon for the Mining Workers Union during wage and salaries negotiation this year. Ankrah and his cohorts should take note. Though I'm in the U.S now, I still support you guys.

With all these resources coming from the place yet Tarkwa and Damang are still poor. Just take a look at the road linking these two towns and one will know what I am talking about. The whole Tarkwa township roads are in a total mess despite these huge resources coming from the area. The pipe borne water always has some oily substance on the surface especially when boiled and allowed to cool down. Our leaders both national and regional/districts have failed us big time and they should all bow down their heads in SHAME.
