Ghanaians know that Akosombo provides only a fraction of our current generation mix. We have Bui, Kpong, Karpowership, Sunon Asogli, BXC, Ameri, and others feeding the national grid.
My question is:
If we truly have an interconnected and diversified generation system, why does a single fault at Akosombo lead to a nationwide blackout? Does this not point to a failure in our transmission system (GRIDCo), system protection, or grid stability?
Secondly, can you explain to Ghanaians what has happened to your projection of only 2 outages per year, and what concrete measures your Ministry is putting in place to prevent a total system collapse from a single generation fault?
