The Chief Executive Officer of Ghana Association of Banks (GAB), John Awuah, has assured that Ghana’s banking sector is now more resilient, stable, and better capitalised than it was a few years ago, following reforms and investments aimed at strengthening operations.

Speaking at the launch of the Ghana Customer Satisfaction Index (G‑CSI) Report on Thursday, July 30, 2026, Awuah said banks have significantly improved their systems and are investing heavily to enhance customer service.

“We all know banks have gone through challenges in the past, but the sector today is stronger, more resilient, and better capitalised than it was a few years ago,” he stated.

He explained that banks are channeling resources into digital banking, cybersecurity, payment systems, customer education, and financial inclusion, all aimed at making services easier, safer, and more customer‑focused.

Awuah noted that the G‑CSI Report provides an independent assessment of how customers rate banking services, helping banks identify areas for improvement while encouraging healthy competition based on service quality.

He added that the Ghana Association of Banks remains committed to building customer confidence and promoting responsible banking practices.
