Oxglow Launches Oxi: Ghana's first AI that tells you what anything costs before you buy or sell

Oxglow, has launched Oxi Oxglow, has launched Oxi

Oxglow, Ghana’s growing buy-and-sell marketplace, today announced the launch of Oxi — an AI-powered market assistant built directly on top of real Ghanaian listing data.

Unlike general-purpose AI tools, Oxi is trained exclusively on active Oxglow listings, making it the first AI in Ghana capable of answering hyper-local pricing questions such as “How much does a Toyota Corolla cost in Kumasi right now?” or “What is a fair price for a Samsung Galaxy S22 in Accra?”

Oxi is available free of charge at oxglow.com.gh/assistant and inside the Oxglowmobile app. Users type a question in plain language — no forms, no filters — and Oxi responds with the median price, the price range, a regional breakdown, and links to matching live listings.

The system draws on IQR-trimmed price statistics from the past six months of listings, ensuring that outliers do not skew results.

“The number one problem in Ghanaian commerce is information asymmetry. A buyer walks into a market not knowing the price, and a seller names any figure. Oxi changes that. We built it so that anyone — even someone in a rural district with only a phone — can know the fair market price of anything before they spend a cedi.”

Foster Dompreh, Founder & CEO, Oxglow

Oxglow was founded with the mission of making buying and selling in Ghana transparent, safe, and simple. The platform covers categories including vehicles, electronics, real estate, fashion, and household goods, with listings spanning all 16 regions of Ghana.

Sellers can post for free, while a Pro subscription tier (from GH₵30/month) unlocks advanced features including analytics, priority placement, and a professional storefront.

Oxi represents a significant technical milestone: it is the first product on the platform to use AI language models not to generate information, but to interpret a user’s intent and then retrieve and compute answers from Oxglow’s own database.

This means every figure Oxi gives is sourced from a real listing posted by a real seller in Ghana — not from internet-trained assumptions. In addition to the conversational assistant, Oxi includes a Price Stats panel — a data tool for analysts, journalists, and researchers that surfaces median, low, and high price ranges with confidence scores and regional breakdowns for any product category.

The platform is now accepting Pro seller applications and inviting media partners to explore the Price Stats tool for editorial market-price coverage.

“We are not trying to be the next Jumia. We are building something that fits how Ghanaians actually buy and sell — on WhatsApp, on the phone, face-to-face, negotiated. Oxi is the tool that makes those conversations fairer for everyone.”

Oxi is live now. Journalists and media organisationsare invited to test the assistant at oxglow.com.gh/assistant and to contact the founder directly for interviews, demonstrations, or data requests.
