The Agricultural Development Bank (ADB) PLC has expressed deep sorrow and solidarity with the people of Dagbon following the passing of the revered Ndan YaaNaa Abubakari Mahama II, a monumental figure in the traditional and cultural leadership of Northern Ghana.

In a solemn show of respect and partnership, ADB’s delegation, led by its Northern Area Manager, Michael Asigri, paid a condolence visit to the Gbewaa Palace.

The team was received by the traditional leaders, elders, and the newly installed Regent and caretaker of Dagbon, Kampakuya Naa Yakubu, to whom they conveyed the Bank’s heartfelt sympathies during this period of mourning.

Addressing the palace, Asigri noted that the demise of Ndan Yaa Naa Abubakari Mahama II is not only a loss to Dagbon but to the entire nation, given the critical role of traditional authorities in fostering unity, stability, and development.

He emphasized ADB’s longstanding relationship with the people of the Northern Region and Gbewaa Palace in particular, and reaffirmed the Bank’s commitment to standing with communities in times of both progress and grief.

“We mourn with the people of Dagbon and share in this profound loss. The legacy of Ndan Yaa Naa Abubakari Mahama II will continue to inspire leadership, unity, and cultural pride,” Asigri stated.

The Regent, on behalf of the Dagbon, expressed gratitude to ADB for the gesture, describing it as a testament to the Bank’s deep connection with the people and its sensitivity to matters of national and cultural significance.

The visit underscores ADB’s broader commitment beyond banking, supporting communities, respecting cultural heritage, and strengthening bonds with traditional institutions across Ghana.

As Dagbon navigates this period of grief, ADB joins the nation in honoring the life and legacy of Ndan Yaa Naa Abubakari Mahama II, while offering prayers for strength for the people of Dagbon.
