PNDC thought wesponising GPRTU in the 80s was going to hurt their opponents. They never thought of it becoming an albatross around their neck in implementing modern transport plan for Ghanaians. If Ghana had modern transport industry, with Trotros banned, this issue will never be a problem. Private Companies operating mass transport with big buses in the cities will easily absorb some of these prices increase.

It hurts and very painful that we are using all our resources to build roads, but we will allow Vans turned into passenger vehicles (Trotros) to run on it on completion. When will we ever get a Bold Leader to ban Trotros? 95% of All members of GRTCC & GPRTU do not import brand new buses for their businesses. They therefore do not deserves attention of the ruling Govt. Ghana Govt shd ban them and force them to come together to form Companies as is done elsewhere. They can then import very Big Buses for that business. Their unruly behaviour is preventing investors coming into the Transport Industry.

Meet over what? When govt increases duties, utilities et al there's no meeting prior. Businessmen increase their rates and govt wants to have a meeting? What nonsense is that. Transporters have to breakeven that's the least.

Presently Govt cannot allow lawless & reckless GPRTU to fix fares. It would be suicidal to allow them to use their rickety Trotros to cheap passengers.May be in future when Trotros are banned and GPRTU are forced to change into Companies they can have their freedom
