Mr Acheampong,you're on point,I have said on this platform that the cedi is on steroids and the rate is artificial which is destroying the few export oriented industry we have,the Cocobod financial challenges are due to this but it's being hidden from Ghanaians,the dollar is simply being sold to the banks but genuine importers are told to bring their own dollars bought from the black market for the transfer to be done for them,the principal beneficiaries of this lazy and myopic policy are the banks themselves and the foreign rice importers,local rice farmers have stockpiled millions of tonnes of paddy rice whilst the FSHS and school feeding programs feed our children with imported rice giving employment to foreigners.
