What goes into the charge? Some years ago, my niece was in one of the 4 occupied rooms. Initially the charge appeared high but considering the fact that the hostel provided a fridge, free electricity and water, standby generator. It ended up being comparatively cheaper and more convenient than elsewhere that students had to bring their own fridges and pay for utilities.

You cannot control the rent on state-owned assets, and you think you can control the rent on assets owned by individuals? Welcome to the real world.

WHY should a student want AC and single in a room if she isn't gong to fcuk in there. Studying isn't the primary focus. So 20k is a cool chop. I have no idea if the commissioner of rent has built before and tried renting out. Gave out a chamber and hall for 1,500gh a month for 1 year. After the person left had to spend 11,000 bring the place back to shape. SSNIT is a government institution. He should just walk in there to ask for the numbers. How messy the student turn the place into after 1 sememter. Maintenance, security and entire area is on them. This dude shouldn't play Jesus to tenants. Face facts. Building and renting is the last business and sane person should do. Better to buy lands in good areas and wall them. Every 5 years buy one. When you're old you sell to survive

Does this guy live in Ghana? How much is building materials? Has he compared room and board costs in schools around the globe? For example, in New York a two bedroom apartment is being rented for $2,400 monthly while in Ghana a three bedrooms costs 1,500 Ghc depending on the location. What is he talking about? Go out there and control the prices of building materials. Don't put pressure on landlords and landladies. Ask your government to complete all affordable houses started by the previous administration and stop threatening landlords.
