A criminal can sponsor politicians to win elections and they in turn appoint them into office to protect them against their crimes.
Proceeds from crime are used to bribe traditional leaders who would make statements to support the criminal.
It's money, money and all money for every single form of leadership that exists in Ghana today. Be it the president and his appointees, clergy, chiefs, political party leaders, and what have you.
You'll soon see the Volta NDC leadership coming out openly defend him because the underground movements are not stopping the investigation.

Plasmida, you have a valid point. But, even if he (the council of state member for the Volta Region) is a perceived enemy of the management and staff of SARU of the EOCO, and he knows his hands are clean and without blemish, he should show up and clarify and defend himself.
Rather than issueing statements through traditional leaders, the media and asking for the EOCO to be sacked, he could sue EOCO for defamation if he is really innocent.
