Why increase international flight fees to $100? I don’t understand where our leaders learn their economics. Why not start with, say, a 5% increment each year instead? This increase will negatively affect tourism, and we need higher visitor numbers. Ghana currently receives fewer than 5 million visitors a year, which is far too low. The country should be targeting at least 10 million visitors.

And best practice requires that you introduce a other tax to handle the problems?? Already the taxes on the tickets are one of the highest in the world compared to other countries yet they don't have this additional tax you have introduced. What we know is tax and tax and tax and unfortunately we don't put the monies collected to any good use! How much does Ghana earn from the high passenger tax? And what is that money used for? Please tell us! This is exploitative and not warranted! Make effective and efficient use of the current passenger taxes included in the tickets we buy rather than levy an additional tax!!

You are foolishly killing businesses and tourism. Who will win when passenger numbers starts declining. There is nothing special Ghana offers that other countries can't offer for less. We always tickle ourselves.
