Mahatma please minimize importation of food that can be produced by our own people to feed ourselves
Depending on imported basic food is very disgraceful as a sovereign nation

The problem as usual with local farm produce is how competitive the prices are as compared to imported rice. The government needs to intervene with subsidies for the inputs like fertilizers, seeds and pesticides.

Good idea, but the fears is opening our boarders for cheap foreign products. I don't know what has become of a similar soybean oil processing enterprise that was established in Techiman under former President Kufour. The president was equally taken round the facility like JM was. I don't however know the status of the facility today as soyabean farmers are struggling to break even in the presence of flooded foreign cooking oils in our markets. Hope JM gives his utmost support to the entrepreneur.
