@Kramai, i did not vote nor have I ever voted as i find our politicians to be self-centered, dishonest and only look after their self interests and that of their party so don't make the wrong assumption I must have voted NPP. For years the duopoly of both parties in government have been lazy in never looking to structurally improving the economy by investing in the different sectors to primarily create employment opportunities so as this would translate in more tax receipts coming into government coffers and would be used for more economic investment. What successive governments have done is to take the lazy way out in which to collect tax receipts and that has been at captive areas like the Ports and in particular targeting vehicle imports and import taxes. With high increases in these import taxes year on year we now have vehicles in Ghana today that are so expensive to buy locally or import given these duties. I mean how can a 9/10 year old car in Ghana sell for $10-25,000. What i would request is government should spread the tax burden fairly across all sectors so as there can be a reduction on vehicular import duties, today how many people don't pay tax when they should be doing so. Its government's duty to go after these tax evaders and sort....

Good PR. The detail is in the pudding. This is just laughable. Since when has the cedi stabilized w and they are now adjusting to it? Either they adjust or not the market forces of demand supply would force their hands when inventories fill up their lots. As long as people have friends and direct contacts outside to buy and ship to them cheaper the power of these cartels would crumble.
