Interestingly, less is being said about the contribution of the sudden appreciation of the Ghana Cedis to the liquidity challenges facing COCOBOD.
The farmgate price for cocoa before the NDC Government came into office was set based on the prevailing rates. The NDC came to power and suddenly strengthened the Cedi against the Dolla and again increased prices of cocoa. The Finance Minster and the Governor of BoG are part of the problem.

The cocoa price in Ghana is always adjusted to the prevailing world market price yet it's maintained when world market price is lowered just to protect the industry. And for this ineptitude NDC government just a falling price from October last year will trigger such catastrophic reactions. Gullible Ghanaians are the cause of all these wahala by voting back into power the incompetent dead goat.

The Ghanaian voter is to be blamed for this foolishness going on in Ghana. Is this the first time that cocoa price has fallen on the world market, no. So, why should NDC punish the poor farmer? Past government do find a way to absorb the cost than to punish the poor farmer, but it is only John Mahama who have said on several occasion that he cannot think through issue, punish the poor cocoa farmer but will give 78 million cedis to Ofosu Kwakye to silence those who will criticize the government.
Yes, John Mahama is fooling the average Ghanaian that he has a small government but budget wise, his expenses are twice that of Nana Addo's government, but the stupid NDC supporter sees nothing wrong with that.
