    Tomatoes require a lot of water to reach full
    development, because without it , fruit
    is undersized and not ideal for canning..whereas just as a puree,,,it's so important.

    Are you sure tomatoes require a lot of water to reach full development? Burkina Faso produces tomatoes all year round but has ONLY two months of rainfall, August and September in the whole year.

    Stop talking out of ignorance. The threw dams in Bohrkina Faso store enough water for all year cultivation of crops. They have excess water and usually spill it before the rains.
