I think that should be the way. Goldbod must be funded directly but their purchase price be less than the world market price in order not to create loss. However, bank of Ghana must buy from them to cushion the exchange rate. It is more or less same as the PMC thing. The only difference is the restriction.

After refuting the $214m loss and referring to IMF of telling lies, the fowls have come home to roost.
They have started explaining the reduction in gold reserve. We are waiting.

Currency stability is a great goal. However, please practice transparency. Has our gold reserves been depleted or increased, JK? How much is the stability costing the Central Bank?

The talking is too much. We’ve heard enough of refining gold in Ghana. Time and tide wait for no man! Go ahead and quickly do it and stop the talking!

Now we know who the real nation wreckers are.Galamsey left, right and centre, and nobody is concerned anymore. It is Mahama so it doesn't matter anymore. Oliver Vormerwor and Ralf have suddenly disappeared. Chiefs are silent and ishops, prophets and "men of God "have turned away and pretended they haven't seen nothing. The tide has shifted. The talk is about GoldBod buying gold directly from miners to refine and not who GoldBod is going to buy the gold from. Whether from the illegal miners(galamseyers)or whatever nobody cares anymore. The President who vehemently advocated for a state of emergency to be declared to help combat galamsey has now turn around to tell Ghanaians that stopping illegal mining will damage the country economically and therefore we should accept things as they are. What is happening?.Your answer is as good as mine

Does this mean through the value chain Ghana gained $9.786 ($10b - $214m)?

With this new policy are we not transferring losses to goldbod?
We would rather be happy to know the gains as a result of appreciation of the cedi as against the loss of $214m. When we are able to do this and ascertain a positive net position, then we can confidently justify the loss of $214m whether with BOG or goldbod.
