This Minister believes more in NDC than the nation Ghana. There was a Portuguese African based company who wanted to build and operate Tema -Accra motorway in 2018 but he objected to that idea in Parliament.

Why not build ray way lines instead? Trains serve multiple purposes. The morden trains are faster and safer than cars on the road. Trains can move heavy equipment faster and cheaper than the trucks plying dangerously on our highways. The volume of people and goods trains can haul at a time is phenomenal. Lastly, it creates jobs for the unemployed youths.
Trains are the way to go.

Mid-year, indeed! When the drafts are projected to be finalised latest by July/August, how can a sane mind propose for the commencement of real project activities, which would only proceed after thorough planning, by mid-year? Or, the minister does did not do primary school statistics?
For all we know, he had meant to say mid-2027!
Let us face it! What at all is wrong with our politicians? For the past two years, travellers have been frustrated by the construction works going on between Ofanko and Nsawam junction. One would have expected the new government to expedite action on that stretch and beyond. Rather, the new government comes in with an announcement of the construction of an express way, oblivious of what the last government had started, with the same country's money!
When at all are we going to benefit from the completion of projects our leaders start? Everybody wants to start a new project, so that they get the opportunity to transfer half of the cost of the projects into their private accounts!
Hasten my Lord, No more delay! We have suffered enough!

Lagos - Ibadan expressway was constructed along the same old route connecting existing historical , commercial towns from Lagos, Shagamu to Ibadan. Abidjan to Yamosokro, no new alignment, Lome to Cotonou to Lagos through same old alignment. Only Ghana has so much money to be deceived to bypass Accra Tema Motorway, Lapas Motorway extension all the way to Kasoa to Winneba when the Right of Way is there clearly but need only reconfiguration. But decide to go through a bypass from Bundase to Mamfe tunnel and come out from Budumburam through virgin land and destruction of arable land in Greater Accra at a huge cost. Same proposal for Accra- Kumasi Expressway through virgin land connecting no cities. The emphasis is on shortening the route but no existing traffic only relying on diverted traffic and generated traffic. So much of arable land will be destroyed. Ancient commercial towns, tourist sites like Suhum, Bunso, Nkawkaw, Anyinam, Ejisu which have all paid their dues in contributing to economic development will be forgotten. Inter modal transport between railway towns like proximity to Koforidua, Anyinam, Nkawkaw, Ejisu etc will be abandoned. Existing road assets including earthworks materials, sub base, crushed stone, asphalt materials that will be employed to cut down cost will all be forfeited. The exact alignment is all not clear except some artist impression of interchanges and bridges over possibly Pra river is shown. A typical straight line design with no interconnectivity to achieve a shorter length of road is achieved without considering much economic benefit, which could also be achieved with the existing central corridor alignment with minimal modification. The existing Central Corridor synerguses with the Eastern Corridor alignment rather than going through far away Adeiso through Akim Oda, Ofoase Ayirebi, Mankessim etc. Any challenge with the existing works on the Bypasses should be quickly resolved because if two elephants fight, NDC/NPP only the grass , the people of the Eastern region suffers since they also voted massively for the government. Our government should do everything possible to reset the existing Kumasi- Accra Road projects which lies in the heart of a densely populated enclaves.
